Best Customer Data Platform Software in 2026

A customer data platform collects behavioural and record data from separate systems, resolves it into one profile per customer, and makes that profile available for segmentation and activation in the tools a marketing or product team actually uses. This ranking covers twelve vendors spanning genuine CDP specialists, broader suites that sell a CDP module alongside tag management or analytics, and the handful of dominant US platforms most buyers already know by name. We judged whether the CDP is the vendor's whole product or one module inside something larger, whether the profile store is packaged and vendor-hosted or can run inside a customer's own warehouse, how much of the price a buyer can see before a sales call, and which jurisdiction ultimately holds the data.

What it is: Customer data platform software ingests events and records from a company's website, app, CRM, point of sale and other systems, resolves the result into a single persistent profile per customer through identity matching, and exposes that profile for segmentation and activation across email, advertising, personalization and other downstream tools. Some products in this category are CDP specialists, where identity resolution, enrichment and activation are the entire business; others sell the CDP as one module inside a broader suite that also includes tag management, consent management or web analytics. A smaller group of products take a composable approach, running the CDP logic inside a customer's own data warehouse rather than copying profiles into a second, vendor-hosted store.

Visibility in this ranking can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review. The largest vendors in customer data platform software cannot hold places 1 to 3. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

The top three

  1. #1

    Zeotap

Teams that already run Snowflake and want the CDP inside their own warehouse

A Berlin-headquartered Composable CDP, founded 2014, offering identity resolution, enrichment and cross-channel activation, deployable as a Snowflake Native App inside a customer's own warehouse.

  2. #2

    mediarithmics

Publishers and consumer brands planning their personalization and monetization strategy around the end of third-party cookies

A Paris-based CDP built around real-time personalization and cookieless audience monetization from the outset, recently merged with the personalization vendor Easyence.

  3. #3

    Spotler Activate

Ecommerce teams wanting one Dutch vendor for the CDP and, if needed, the rest of the Spotler Group's email and automation stack

A Dutch ecommerce-focused CDP, previously sold as the standalone product Squeezely before being folded into Spotler Group and renamed, unifying customer and behavioural data into real-time segments and triggers.

How we ranked these

CDP specialists versus CDP-as-a-module

Only some of the vendors on this list are CDP-first companies. Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, RudderStack and mParticle build identity resolution, enrichment and activation as the whole product. Piwik PRO and Commanders Act instead sell a CDP module inside a broader suite — Piwik PRO's module is literally branded "Data Activation" rather than marketed as a standalone CDP, and sits alongside its analytics, tag manager and consent manager; Commanders Act's "Real-Time CDP" sits alongside its own server-side tag manager and, since its 2023 acquisition of Adloop, an ad-optimisation product. The pattern repeats at the top of the market: Tealium and Twilio Segment are themselves broad platforms that have grown well beyond a single-purpose profile store, while Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP are explicitly the profile layer inside a much larger platform suite rather than standalone purchases. A buyer wanting a CDP specialist should look first at Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, RudderStack or mParticle; a buyer who wants consent, tagging or a wider platform bundled in has good reasons to look at the suite vendors instead.

Who owns the data, and under what jurisdiction

Five of the twelve vendors here are genuinely EU-headquartered: Zeotap (zeotap GmbH, Berlin, Germany), mediarithmics (Paris, France), Spotler Activate (Spotler Group, Netherlands), Commanders Act (Fjord Technologies, Paris, France) and Piwik PRO (Piwik PRO S.A., Wrocław, Poland). The other seven are US-incorporated: RudderStack, Bloomreach, mParticle, Tealium, Twilio Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP. Bloomreach is worth flagging specifically — it was founded in Amsterdam in 2009 and its CDP product, Bloomreach Engagement, began life as the Slovak company Exponea before being acquired in 2021, but Bloomreach's current legal headquarters is Mountain View, California, and it operates as a US-incorporated company today despite the European founding story. A buyer with a genuine EU-only jurisdiction requirement has five functioning alternatives to the US majority on this list, not just a single token option, though none of the five EU vendors match the market recognition of Segment, Tealium or the Salesforce and Adobe platform suites.

The real price: quote-only is the default, not the exception

Published pricing is the exception across this entire category, not just among the European vendors. RudderStack is the most transparent: a perpetual free tier at 250,000 events a month, 16 SDK sources and 200+ destinations, with a Growth plan from $265 a month at 1 million events, plus a self-hosted Community Edition under the Elastic License 2.0. Twilio Segment publishes a free tier priced by tracked users before moving to quoted pricing at volume. Piwik PRO publishes a starting price for its Business plan (from €36 a month) that includes a capped Data Activation (CDP) allowance of 300 profiles a month, with Enterprise tiers from €366 a month and the highest tiers quoted; it also offers a 30-day free trial. Every other vendor on this list — Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, Commanders Act, Bloomreach, mParticle, Tealium, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP — publishes no pricing at all and routes every deal through a sales conversation. Budget for a scoping call as a normal part of evaluating nine of these twelve products.

Packaged profile store versus your own warehouse

Most products on this list store the unified customer profile in the vendor's own infrastructure, which is simple to adopt but means the profile history leaves with the vendor if a company switches. Two vendors take a different, composable approach: RudderStack can be self-hosted entirely, and Zeotap is available as a Snowflake Native App, meaning its identity resolution and activation logic can run directly inside a customer's own Snowflake instance rather than requiring a second, vendor-hosted copy of the data. For a data team that has already invested in modelling customer tables in a warehouse, that architecture avoids creating a second system of record; for a marketing team with no data engineering support, a packaged product such as Tealium, Bloomreach or Spotler Activate removes that burden entirely by running the whole pipeline for you.

Recent ownership and rebrand changes worth knowing

Several vendors on this list have changed hands or names recently enough that older research about them is stale. mParticle completed a merger with Rokt and is now sold as "mParticle by Rokt." Spotler Activate was, until recently, sold as a standalone product called Squeezely before being folded into the Dutch Spotler Group and renamed; older reviews or case studies under the Squeezely name describe the same underlying product. Zeotap went through a corporate restructuring in 2025 — a June spin-off of a separate entity, zeotap Data GmbH, and a September change of chief executive — worth asking about directly during procurement even though the core Composable CDP product remains active. And Bloomreach's CDP product, Bloomreach Engagement, is the result of its 2021 acquisition of the Slovak company Exponea, which is why some older material still refers to the product by its original name.

The 12 tools, reviewed

#1 Zeotap

Composable CDP that runs inside your own Snowflake instance · Germany · zeotap.com

Snowflake Native App Identity resolution and activation EU-headquartered (Germany)

Zeotap is the most CDP-first product on this list: identity resolution, enrichment and activation are the whole company, not a module inside something larger. Its Snowflake Native App deployment lets the CDP logic run directly inside a customer's own warehouse, avoiding a second vendor-hosted copy of the data, and it is genuinely EU-headquartered in Berlin.

Where it falls short

Zeotap publishes no pricing anywhere on its site and no free trial is advertised, so a buyer cannot size a deployment without a sales call. The company also went through a corporate restructuring in 2025 — a June spin-off of a separate entity, zeotap Data GmbH, and a September change of chief executive — worth asking about directly during procurement.

Wrong for

A small team wanting to self-serve a plan and see a price before talking to sales, since Zeotap publishes nothing and offers no free trial.

Pricing: Not published; every deployment is quoted after a sales conversation. No free trial is advertised. (none stated)

#2 mediarithmics

Cookieless-first CDP with built-in audience monetization · France · mediarithmics.io

Cookieless-first design Audience monetization EU-headquartered (France)

mediarithmics was built cookieless-first rather than retrofitted, which is a genuine differentiator as third-party cookies continue to disappear, and it combines customer data unification with the ability to monetize audience data directly rather than only using it internally. Its recent merger with Easyence extends the product into on-site personalization and search.

Where it falls short

No pricing is published anywhere and no free trial is advertised. It is also a smaller, less internationally recognised brand than the largest vendors on this list, and the Easyence merger makes its near-term product roadmap harder to read from outside the company.

Wrong for

A buyer who wants to compare published pricing across vendors before a sales call, since mediarithmics discloses none.

Pricing: Not published; every deployment is quoted after a sales conversation. No free trial is advertised. (none stated)

Visit mediarithmics →

#3 Spotler Activate

Dutch ecommerce CDP, formerly Squeezely, now part of Spotler Group · Netherlands · spotler.com

Ecommerce-focused CDP Formerly Squeezely EU-headquartered (Netherlands)

Spotler Activate is purpose-built for ecommerce, unifying customer and behavioural data into real-time segments and triggers rather than acting as a generalist profile store retrofitted for retail. Being part of Spotler Group gives a buyer the option of one Dutch vendor across CDP, email and marketing automation rather than three separate contracts.

Where it falls short

The product was recently renamed from Squeezely to Spotler Activate as part of its move into Spotler Group, so older research and case studies under the Squeezely name may not reflect the current product or support team. No pricing or free tier is published.

Wrong for

A buyer who wants a CDP with a long, stable brand history to research, since the recent Squeezely-to-Spotler-Activate rename makes older third-party material about the product harder to trust at face value.

Pricing: Not published; the vendor routes every buyer to a demo or quote request. No free tier is advertised. (none stated)

Visit Spotler Activate →

#4 RudderStack

Warehouse-native CDP with a perpetual free tier and self-hosted option · United States · rudderstack.com

Perpetual free tier Self-hostable (Elastic License 2.0) Warehouse-native architecture

RudderStack takes the position that a customer's own warehouse is already the system of record, so it collects events, stitches identities and delivers to destinations without becoming a second store, and it is one of only two vendors on this list that can be fully self-hosted. The perpetual free tier and published usage-based pricing make it one of the easiest products here to evaluate without a sales call.

Where it falls short

Marketer-facing segmentation and audience-building tools are thinner than the packaged platforms on this list, and usage-based pricing scales with event traffic rather than with an approved budget.

Wrong for

A marketing team that wants to build and manage audiences directly through a polished interface without engineering support, since RudderStack is built around a technical, warehouse-native workflow.

Pricing: Free plan: 250,000 events/month perpetual, 16 SDK sources, 200+ destinations. Growth plan from $265/month at 1 million events. Self-hosted Community Edition available under the Elastic License 2.0. (free plan)

Visit RudderStack →

#5 Bloomreach

Commerce-experience CDP, Amsterdam-founded but now US-headquartered · United States · bloomreach.com

Bloomreach Engagement (formerly Exponea) AI-driven segmentation Amsterdam-founded, now US-headquartered

Bloomreach Engagement (formerly Exponea, acquired 2021) is a genuine, well-funded CDP with strong ecommerce personalization and AI-driven segmentation. Bloomreach was founded in Amsterdam in 2009, which gives it a European founding story, but its current legal headquarters is Mountain View, California, so it is listed here as a US vendor.

Where it falls short

No pricing is published anywhere and no free trial was found, so budgeting requires a sales conversation. A buyer specifically seeking a European-headquartered vendor should note that Bloomreach's current legal HQ is in the US despite its Amsterdam founding.

Wrong for

A buyer whose jurisdiction requirement is specifically EU incorporation, since Bloomreach's founding story is European but its current legal headquarters is not.

Pricing: Not published; quote-only via a sales conversation. No free trial found. (none stated)

Visit Bloomreach →

#6 Piwik PRO

Polish analytics suite with a published-pricing CDP module · Poland · piwik.pro

Published entry pricing 30-day free trial EU-headquartered (Poland)

Piwik PRO is the only vendor on this list with a published starting price that covers its CDP feature (Business from €36/month, including a capped 300 Data Activation profiles/month) and a 30-day free trial, which makes it one of the easiest products here to evaluate without a sales call. It is not, however, a CDP-first product — Data Activation is one of four modules in a broader analytics, tag manager and consent suite.

Where it falls short

The Data Activation (CDP) allowance is capped even on the entry paid tier, and a buyer who wants a CDP specialist rather than an analytics-suite module will find Piwik PRO's identity resolution and destination catalogue lighter than the dedicated CDP vendors on this list.

Wrong for

A consumer brand or publisher that needs deep, high-volume identity matching and a large destination catalogue as its primary requirement, since Piwik PRO's CDP module is capped and secondary to its analytics suite.

Pricing: Business plan from €36/month (up to 2M actions/month, 20 domains, 300 Data Activation profiles/month, 25-month retention); Enterprise Data Fundamentals from €366/month billed annually; higher Enterprise tiers (Trusted Insights, Secure Intelligence) quoted. 30-day free trial, no credit card required. (free trial)

#7 Commanders Act

French CDP bundled with server-side tag management and consent · France · commandersact.com

Server-side tag management + consent + CDP Adloop ad-optimisation (acquired 2023) EU-headquartered (France)

Commanders Act, the trading name of Fjord Technologies (SIREN 527 730 782), built its CDP outward from a server-side tag management business, so consent state, collection and the unified customer profile all sit with one French vendor rather than three separate tools. Its 2023 acquisition of Adloop adds ad-spend optimisation to what is now a three-part suite.

Where it falls short

No pricing is published anywhere and no free trial is advertised. The CDP is one of three product lines rather than a specialism, and the company has a smaller partner network and thinner public documentation outside France than the largest vendors on this list.

Wrong for

A buyer who wants a CDP specialist rather than a combined tag-management, consent and CDP suite, since Commanders Act's customer data platform is one part of a broader product.

Pricing: Not published; every plan is quoted after a sales conversation. No free trial is advertised. (none stated)

Visit Commanders Act →

#8 mParticle

Mobile-first CDP with strong data governance, now part of Rokt · United States · mparticle.com

Mobile-first identity resolution Per-destination data governance Now "mParticle by Rokt"

mParticle is the strongest option on this list when the primary product is a mobile app: its SDKs are well maintained, cross-device and reinstall identity is handled properly, and per-destination filtering lets a team send a partner only the attributes it is entitled to rather than a full profile. That governance depth suits regulated sectors well.

Where it falls short

mParticle has completed a merger with Rokt and now operates as "mParticle by Rokt," which makes the product's independent roadmap and support structure a real open question for a buyer relying on it long-term. No pricing is published and volume commitments make forecasting mistakes expensive.

Wrong for

A small team with simple, web-only tracking needs, since mParticle's strengths and enterprise commercial structure are built for mobile-first, high-governance use cases.

Pricing: Not published; every plan is quoted with volume commitments after a sales conversation. No free tier is advertised. (none stated)

Visit mParticle →

#9 Tealium

Established tag management and CDP platform run by marketers · United States · tealium.com

Long-established incumbent (founded 2008) Tag manager + CDP combined Marketer-run, no engineering required

Tealium sells independence from the data team: tags, consent, profile unification and audience delivery in one product, administered by marketers rather than engineers. Its AudienceStream product, launched in 2013 and self-described by the vendor as the first CDP on the market, gives it one of the longest track records and largest customer bases in this category.

Where it falls short

No pricing is published anywhere, so a buyer cannot size a likely deal without a sales call. The collection layer, identity rules and profile history all sit with Tealium, so leaving the platform means rebuilding data collection rather than a straightforward export.

Wrong for

A technical team that wants the customer profile to remain inside its own warehouse rather than in vendor-hosted infrastructure.

Pricing: Not published; every plan is quoted after a sales conversation. (none stated)

Visit Tealium →

#10 Twilio Segment

The default CDP pipeline, acquired by Twilio for $3.2B · United States · segment.com

Widest destination catalogue in category Acquired by Twilio for $3.2B (2020) Free entry tier

Segment solved event collection first and set the conventions most of the rest of this category still follows, which is why its destination catalogue has no real equal and why engineers already know its API without training. Twilio's $3.2 billion acquisition of Segment in October 2020 confirms its scale and market position.

Where it falls short

Pricing by tracked user punishes a high-traffic consumer product with many anonymous visitors who never convert, and the full CDP tier (Unify, Engage, Protocols) is quoted rather than published. Once a tracking plan is established, switching away from Segment is practically slow even though it is not technically hard.

Wrong for

A high-volume consumer business that wants to keep a close eye on cost per tracked profile, since Segment's per-user pricing model scales with traffic rather than budget.

Pricing: A free tier is available, priced by tracked users; the Connections Business plan and full Customer Data Platform tier (Unify, Engage, Protocols, identity resolution) are quoted after a sales conversation. A 14-day trial is available on the Connections Business plan. (free plan)

Visit Twilio Segment →

#11 Salesforce Data Cloud

The profile layer for organisations already running Salesforce · United States · salesforce.com

Salesforce-native Consumption-based pricing Enterprise scale

Data Cloud makes most sense as a decision about the platform rather than the category: if CRM, service and marketing are already Salesforce, unifying customer profiles anywhere else means integration work an organisation can avoid. Within that world it is coherent and enterprise-scale.

Where it falls short

Consumption credits are difficult to forecast and the product requires existing Salesforce licensing underneath it, so the true cost is rarely visible until after a quarter of usage.

Wrong for

A company with no existing Salesforce investment, since Data Cloud's value is concentrated for organisations already inside that ecosystem.

Pricing: Not published; priced on consumption credits, quoted on top of existing Salesforce licensing. (none stated)

Visit Salesforce Data Cloud →

#12 Adobe Real-Time CDP

The profile and audience layer inside the Adobe marketing stack · United States · business.adobe.com

Adobe Experience Platform-native Real-time profile processing Enterprise / partner-led implementation

Inside the Adobe stack, Real-Time CDP is the profile layer everything else reads from, and for a large consumer brand already committed to Journey Optimizer the integration is worth real money. Judged on its own, it is the heaviest product on this list to implement.

Where it falls short

Implementation requires Adobe partner expertise, specialists are scarce and expensive, and the product is very costly to run outside the wider Adobe Experience Platform commitment.

Wrong for

A mid-market buyer with no existing Adobe products or implementation partner, since Real-Time CDP is built to extend an existing Adobe deployment rather than stand alone.

Pricing: Not published; every deployment is quoted per organisation. (none stated)

Visit Adobe Real-Time CDP →

What the data says about this market

Of the twelve vendors ranked here, five are genuinely EU-headquartered — Zeotap (Germany), mediarithmics (France), Spotler Activate (Netherlands), Commanders Act (France) and Piwik PRO (Poland) — and seven are US-incorporated: RudderStack, Bloomreach, mParticle, Tealium, Twilio Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP. The four vendors with the clearest market dominance — Tealium, Twilio Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP — sit at the bottom of this ranking by position, not because they are worse products, but because this list weights CDP specialisation and pricing transparency alongside company size, and none of the four publishes full pricing or is a CDP-only company; Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP are explicitly a layer inside a much larger platform rather than a standalone purchase.

Only five of the twelve — Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, RudderStack and mParticle — are CDP-first companies where the customer data platform is the entire product. The rest sell the CDP alongside something else: Piwik PRO and Commanders Act bundle it with analytics, tag management or consent tooling, and the four major platforms at the bottom of this list are themselves broad suites where the CDP is one component among many. That split matters more than country of origin for most buyers: a team wanting a CDP specialist has five real options spanning both the EU and the US, while a team wanting consent, tagging or a wider marketing platform bundled in has reasons to look at the suite vendors instead, regardless of jurisdiction.

Pricing transparency is thin across the whole category rather than concentrated in one region. RudderStack and Twilio Segment are the only two vendors here with a genuine free tier; Piwik PRO is the only vendor with published entry pricing that is not free. The other nine — including three of the four EU specialists and all four of the largest US platforms — publish nothing and require a sales conversation before a buyer sees a number. A buyer prioritising self-serve transparency over brand recognition should start with RudderStack, Twilio Segment or Piwik PRO before working through the quote-only majority.

How to choose

  1. Sort vendors into CDP specialists and CDP-as-a-module before comparing

Decide first whether the job is a dedicated CDP or a bundle. Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, RudderStack and mParticle build the CDP as their whole product. Piwik PRO, Commanders Act, Tealium, Twilio Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP all sell the CDP as one part of something bigger — an analytics suite, a tag-and-consent platform, or an enterprise marketing cloud. Comparing a Zeotap quote against a Salesforce Data Cloud quote without accounting for that difference means comparing a specialist tool against a platform decision.

  2. Decide between a packaged profile store and your own warehouse

A packaged CDP stores the unified profile in the vendor's infrastructure and hands marketers a ready interface; that is the right choice for a team with no data engineering support. RudderStack (fully self-hostable) and Zeotap (deployable as a Snowflake Native App) instead let the CDP logic run inside a data team's own warehouse, avoiding a second system of record for a company that has already modelled customer tables in Snowflake, BigQuery or similar. Ask directly which model each vendor is offering before comparing price.

  3. Budget for a sales call, because most of this category is quote-only

Nine of the twelve vendors on this list — including three of the five EU specialists and all four of the largest platforms — publish no pricing at all. RudderStack, Twilio Segment and Piwik PRO are the exceptions with a published entry price or free tier. Treat a scoping call as a normal step in evaluating this category rather than a red flag, but get a written quote before assuming any vendor's price fits a specific budget.

  4. Treat jurisdiction as a real requirement when it applies

A buyer with a genuine EU-only data-residency requirement has five functioning alternatives on this list — Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, Commanders Act and Piwik PRO — rather than a single token option. But check the legal entity directly: Bloomreach's Amsterdam founding story does not change the fact that its current legal headquarters is in Mountain View, California, and several vendors on this list have recently changed hands (mParticle into Rokt, Squeezely into Spotler Activate) in ways that can move where a company is ultimately answerable.

Questions and answers

What is the best customer data platform software in 2026?

Zeotap ranks first on this list because it is the most CDP-first product here — identity resolution, enrichment and activation are the whole company — and because it can run as a Snowflake Native App inside a customer's own warehouse rather than a separate vendor-hosted store. Tealium and Twilio Segment are the better-known, more established choices for a buyer prioritising market presence and a wide integration catalogue over CDP-only specialisation, and Salesforce Data Cloud or Adobe Real-Time CDP make sense specifically for a buyer already committed to that platform ecosystem.

Which of these vendors are genuinely EU-headquartered?

Five: Zeotap (zeotap GmbH, Berlin, Germany), mediarithmics (Paris, France), Spotler Activate (Spotler Group, Netherlands), Commanders Act (Fjord Technologies, Paris, France) and Piwik PRO (Piwik PRO S.A., Wrocław, Poland). The other seven — RudderStack, Bloomreach, mParticle, Tealium, Twilio Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP — are US-incorporated.

Is Bloomreach a European company?

Its CDP product, Bloomreach Engagement, began life as the Slovak company Exponea before Bloomreach acquired it in 2021, and Bloomreach itself was founded in Amsterdam in 2009. Despite that European history, Bloomreach's current legal headquarters is Mountain View, California, and it operates as a US-incorporated company today, so it is listed here as a US vendor rather than a European one.

Which vendors publish real pricing, and which are quote-only?

Only three of the twelve: RudderStack (a perpetual free tier at 250,000 events a month, Growth from $265 a month at 1 million events), Twilio Segment (a free tier priced by tracked users before quoted pricing at volume) and Piwik PRO (Business from €36 a month with a capped CDP allowance, Enterprise from €366 a month, plus a 30-day free trial). The other nine — Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, Commanders Act, Bloomreach, mParticle, Tealium, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP — publish no pricing and quote per deal.

Is there a free customer data platform tool on this list?

RudderStack has a genuine perpetual free tier at 250,000 events a month, and Twilio Segment offers a free entry tier priced by tracked users. Piwik PRO offers a 30-day free trial rather than a permanent free plan. The rest of this list — nine of the twelve vendors — state no free tier at all.

Which vendors are dominant, established platforms rather than smaller challengers?

Tealium, Twilio Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud and Adobe Real-Time CDP are the four vendors on this list with the clearest market dominance and name recognition. The other eight — Zeotap, mediarithmics, Spotler Activate, RudderStack, Bloomreach, Piwik PRO, Commanders Act and mParticle — are smaller, more specialised or more regionally focused vendors by comparison.

Is mParticle still an independent company?

No. mParticle completed a merger with Rokt and now operates and is sold as "mParticle by Rokt." The product continues to be marketed around mobile-first identity resolution and data governance, but a buyer evaluating it should confirm the current roadmap and support structure under its new ownership rather than assume it is unchanged.

What happened to Squeezely?

Squeezely was a standalone Dutch ecommerce CDP that has been folded into Spotler Group, a Dutch marketing-technology group, and renamed Spotler Activate. It is the same underlying product under new ownership and a new name; older research or reviews published under "Squeezely" describe what is now sold as Spotler Activate.

Can a customer data platform run inside my own data warehouse?

Two vendors on this list support that model directly. RudderStack can be fully self-hosted under the Elastic License 2.0. Zeotap is available as a Snowflake Native App, meaning its identity resolution and activation logic can run inside a customer's own Snowflake instance rather than copying customer data into a second, vendor-hosted profile store. Every other vendor here stores the unified profile in its own infrastructure.

Which vendor is built for a world without third-party cookies?

mediarithmics, a Paris-based CDP built around cookieless identity resolution and audience monetization from the outset rather than a cookie-era product with a cookieless mode added afterwards.

Is there a fee to be listed in this ranking?

Visibility in this ranking can be paid for. Payment can move a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor that doesn't belong here and never changes a word of a review. The largest vendors in customer data platform software cannot hold places 1 to 3. Full details are on our placement disclosure and editorial process pages.

How often is this ranking updated?

Whenever a fact underneath it changes: a pricing update, an acquisition, a rebrand or a product that stops being maintained. The published and last-reviewed dates at the top of this guide are real, and a review means someone checked the vendor's current documentation, not that a date was moved forward without a re-check.
