About Threshold Research

Threshold Research ranks business software and publishes industry data at the point where a market is visibly changing shape — a new regulation, a wave of consolidation, a category moving from on-premise to cloud. We built it because most software comparison sites read as though the market they cover never moves.

The site runs on three things: a placement policy that is the same for every vendor and published in full, a small editorial team that has actually bought and run the software it reviews, and two statistics offices — the World Bank and Eurostat — cited directly rather than paraphrased.

How we're funded

Some vendors pay to be listed, and that payment can move where they sit within a ranking. It never changes what we write about them, and it is disclosed once, clearly, rather than buried in a footnote. Full detail is on our placement disclosure page.
