Placement disclosure

Threshold Research does not run a commission-based affiliate programme. We do not earn a fee when a reader clicks through to a vendor or makes a purchase.

What we do instead: a vendor already included in one of our rankings can pay to be positioned higher within it. That payment can move a vendor's position in the list. It does not change the verdict written about that vendor, and it does not let a vendor buy its way into a category it would not otherwise be shortlisted for. Vendor selection happens first, independently of any commercial arrangement; placement negotiation happens only within an already-published shortlist.

Every outbound link to a vendor on this site carries a rel="nofollow noopener" attribute, identically, whether or not that vendor has paid for placement — so nothing in the page's markup reveals which listings are paid. This page is the disclosure for the whole site; individual category or article pages do not repeat it.
