Owners of small service firms look past Jobber when per-seat fees grow with the crew, when higher plans are needed for automation and job costing, or when they want built-in phone handling. Most move to Housecall Pro or ServiceM8, and larger firms to FieldEdge or ServiceTitan.
Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within
the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently
1. Housecall Pro
Scheduling, dispatch and payments for home-service trades · United States
Closest like-for-like replacement: same quote, schedule, invoice and pay loop for home-service trades. Its Basic plan includes one user and Essentials five, against Jobber's one user per plan plus $29 per extra user. Max adds route optimization, recurring service plans and an open API.
Switch from Jobber if you want more users bundled into each tier rather than paying per extra seat.
Pricing: Published monthly tiers that step up by user count and feature depth; the entry tier for a single user sits under $100 a month. (free trial)

2. ServiceM8
iPhone-first job management priced by jobs, not users · Australia
Prices by new jobs per month, not by seat: the free plan allows one user and 30 jobs, and every paid plan has unlimited users. A crew of ten costs the same as a crew of two. Text messages are free on paid plans; the free plan charges 10 cents each.
Switch from Jobber if your crew is large relative to your job volume and per-seat fees dominate the bill.
Pricing: Plans priced by the number of new jobs per month: a free plan for one user and 30 jobs, then paid tiers from $29 a month (50 jobs) to $349 (1,500+ jobs), all with unlimited users. (free plan)

3. Workiz
Field service software with a built-in phone system · United States
Does not publish prices for Standard, Pro or Ultimate plans, which cover unlimited jobs, invoices, estimates and clients. Ultimate adds service plans, sales proposals, inventory, flat rate and an open API. The Genius phone and answering add-ons are sold separately.
Switch from Jobber if phone handling, call tracking and inventory matter more than a published price.
Pricing: Quote only: the Standard, Pro and Ultimate plans are listed without prices, and the Genius phone system is sold separately. (free trial)

4. Service Fusion
Field service software with unlimited-user flat pricing · United States
Charges a flat monthly fee with unlimited users on Starter, Plus and Pro, at $208, $325 and $533 a month on annual billing. Job photo uploads, job costing, inventory, customer portal and GPS fleet tracking are priced as add-ons on lower tiers, and add-on prices are not listed.
Switch from Jobber if you employ many users and prefer one flat fee over per-seat charges.
Pricing: Published flat monthly tiers with unlimited users; the entry tier sits in the low hundreds of dollars a month and fleet tracking is an add-on. (none)

6. FieldEdge
Service management for HVAC and plumbing contractors · United States
Quote-only pricing that depends on technician and employee counts and add-ons, with onboarding included in every plan. Select, Premier and Elite tiers target HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance-repair firms. There is no free trial; evaluation runs through a demo.
Switch from Jobber if you run multiple trucks in HVAC or plumbing and want a demo-led, onboarded rollout.
Pricing: Quote only, generally priced per office user and per technician, with onboarding charged on top. (none)

7. ServiceTitan
Operating system for large HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors · United States
Charges per technician under quote-only Starter, Essentials and The Works packages. Aimed at contractors in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and roofing, from residential to commercial and enterprise. Expect a sales process and demo instead of a self-serve sign-up and a public price list.
Switch from Jobber if you have outgrown owner-run tools and want an enterprise contractor platform with a sales process.
Pricing: Quote only, priced per technician with a multi-year agreement typical and a paid implementation project up front. (none)

8. Connecteam
Scheduling, GPS time clock and forms for deskless crews · Israel
Built as a deskless-workforce app, not a quote-to-cash tool. Operations hub covers time clock, job scheduling, forms and tasks, free for up to 10 users. Paid hubs bill a flat fee for the first 30 users. Invoicing and quoting are not its focus.
Switch from Jobber if your main need is crew scheduling, time clock and forms, not client invoicing.
Pricing: Free for very small teams; paid hubs are billed as a flat monthly fee covering a band of users, with a per-user charge above it. (free plan)

9. Commusoft
Job management for UK heating and electrical contractors · United Kingdom
Positions itself for power solution pros such as generator installers, with service contracts, asset management and job costing. Its site says it is designed for businesses with 6 or more staff, so a solo operator is not the intended buyer. Pricing is not shown publicly.
Switch from Jobber if you manage maintenance agreements and assets across a team of six or more.
Pricing: Quote only, priced per user per month with setup and data migration charged separately. (none)

10. Simpro
Job management and costing for trade contractors · Australia
Job management and costing software for trade contractors, positioned above small-crew tools. Its site blocked automated access in this review, so scope and pricing could not be confirmed here. Check the vendor demo for project costing, quoting and plan tiers before comparing it with Jobber.
Switch from Jobber if you do project work with job costing needs beyond what Jobber covers.
Pricing: Quote only, priced per user with tiers that separate service-only from project and job costing features. (none)

11. Salesforce Field Service and Operations
Scheduling and mobile work orders on the Salesforce platform · United States
Runs on the Salesforce platform: Dispatcher and Technician licenses are $175 per user per month on Enterprise Edition billed annually, and each deployment needs at least one Service Cloud license. A configurable enterprise product, not a ready-made trades tool for small crews.
Switch from Jobber if you already run Salesforce and need field service tied to cases and enterprise records.
Pricing: Published per-user list prices that sit well above the small-business tools, licensed on top of a Salesforce Service Cloud subscription, with dispatcher and technician licenses priced separately. (free trial)
