Buyers look past SAP Business One when they want a published price, a browser-first product or less dependence on the reseller who installs it. Most move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Odoo for a like-for-like small-business ERP, and to Acumatica or ERPNext when user-count pricing or licence cost is the problem.
Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within
the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently
1. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Microsoft's small and mid-sized business ERP · United States
A small and midsize ERP covering finance, sales, service and operations, with published per-user prices in an Essentials and a Premium plan. Premium adds service management and manufacturing. Microsoft directs buyers to a partner to purchase, so the partner dependency stays, but the price is visible first.
Switch from SAP Business One if you want a comparable small-business ERP with per-user prices published up front.
Pricing: Published per-user monthly prices in Essentials and Premium tiers, with cheaper Team Members licenses for light users; partners add implementation fees. (free trial)

2. Odoo
Modular ERP with an open-source core, priced per user · Belgium
A modular suite whose Standard and Custom plans include all apps for one per-user fee, plus a free plan for a single app with unlimited users. Only the Custom plan allows on-premise hosting or the external API. Implementation and custom-code upkeep are not included in any plan.
Switch from SAP Business One if you want one per-user fee for every app and can handle implementation yourself or through a partner.
Pricing: Published per-user plans covering all apps, a free plan limited to a single app, and a Custom plan for Studio, external API access and on-premise hosting. (free plan)

3. Acumatica
Cloud ERP licensed by applications and resources, not users · United States
Cloud ERP priced by the applications you license, expected resource use and deployment choice, not by user seats. Its manufacturing edition lists make-to-stock, job shop, batch and project-centric methods. It is bought through a partner, so the reseller relationship does not disappear, but the user count stops driving the bill.
Switch from SAP Business One if user seats drive your cost and you want pricing based on applications and transaction volume.
Pricing: Annual subscription priced mainly by the applications licensed, plus resource levels sized to transaction volume and the deployment choice, with unlimited users; sold exclusively through partners. (none)

Cloud accounting and ERP for Benelux SMEs · Netherlands
A cloud suite built around accounting, with ERP modules for commerce, manufacturing and other industries layered on top, and AI agents for purchasing, banking and debtor management. Switch from SAP Business One if your finance team and accountant matter most and you want accounting-led cloud software with ERP modules added.

5. ERPNext
Fully open-source ERP on the Frappe framework · India
An open-source ERP under the GPL-3.0 licence, with accounting, stock, manufacturing, projects, point of sale and HR in one codebase. You can self-host it or use Frappe Cloud, which bills per site instead of per user. Without a vendor-run rollout, you or a Frappe partner own the implementation.
Switch from SAP Business One if you want to avoid per-user licensing and can run or buy hosting and implementation separately.
Pricing: Free to self-host under GPLv3; managed hosting on Frappe Cloud is billed per site with published monthly plans, and paid support is separate. (open source)

6. Syspro
Manufacturing and distribution ERP from Johannesburg · South Africa
An ERP aimed at manufacturers and distributors, with a cloud-first platform and an industrial AI offering called Torque. Syspro states that its older upfront-plus-annual license model is ending and that software will be sold only on a named-user subscription basis. Its focus is narrower than a general-purpose small-business suite.
Switch from SAP Business One if you are a manufacturer or distributor and accept named-user subscription pricing.
Pricing: Quote only, named-user subscription sold directly and through partners, deployed on-premise or in Syspro Cloud on Azure; the upfront and annual license fee model ends in late 2026. (none)

7. MRPeasy
Browser-based manufacturing ERP for small factories · Estonia
Cloud manufacturing software with published per-user tiers, aimed at small manufacturers of roughly 10 to 200 employees. Even the entry tier includes production planning, purchasing, CRM and standard accounting. It suits a shop that mainly needs to plan and cost production, not a group needing multi-entity finance.
Switch from SAP Business One if you are a small manufacturer and want published per-user pricing instead of a partner quote.
Pricing: Published per-user monthly tiers from $49 Starter to Unlimited; even Starter includes CRM, purchasing and standard accounting, while higher tiers add a product configurator, multiple production sites and the API; free trial, no contracts. (free trial)

8. Priority ERP
Configurable mid-market cloud ERP · Israel
An ERP vendor that markets a cloud ERP with embedded AI under the name aiERP, alongside separate hospitality and retail management products. It sells through a demo and sales conversation. Compare it as a full ERP alternative if you have manufacturing or multi-country operations, and ask for a reference in your sector.
Switch from SAP Business One if you want an AI-oriented cloud ERP and are happy to buy through a sales-led demo.
Pricing: Quote only, sold as Commercial or Manufacturing plans, with modules such as warehouse management, project management, the API and the mobile app generator priced as add-ons. (none)

9. Global Shop Solutions
One-database ERP for job shops and fabricators · United States
Manufacturing ERP covering scheduling, shop floor data collection, quality, job costing and payroll in one system, offered as cloud ERP or on-premise ERP. Questions and answers
Does SAP Business One publish a price?
No, SAP's Business One page offers a quote request and does not show a price list. Pricing is set through SAP or a partner, so request quotes from two partners and from the alternatives you shortlist before you compare totals.
Can I move away from Business One without leaving SAP?
Yes, SAP says S/4HANA Cloud and SAP ERP are designed for organizations of all sizes, while Business One targets small and midsize businesses. Ask SAP or your partner what the move would involve, because the pages we checked do not describe a migration path.
Can Business One run in the cloud or on premises?
Yes, SAP's page lists cloud or on-premise deployment options and a web client that works regardless of the deployment method. Which one you have depends on your partner's setup, so confirm yours before planning a migration.
Who supports Business One if I leave my partner?
SAP's Get Started page lists its support portal, help portal, community and a partner finder as support routes. Whether SAP will support you directly or only through a partner depends on your agreement, which you should read.
How much notice do I need to end my agreement?
The notice period is not published on SAP's product pages, so read your own licence or subscription agreement. If you buy through a partner, the partner's contract may set the terms, so ask for both documents.
Which alternatives suit a manufacturer?
Syspro, Global Shop Solutions, MRPeasy, Acumatica and Business Central Premium list manufacturing or production functions on their own sites. Check the production methods you use, such as job shop, batch or make-to-order, against each vendor's feature list.
