HubSpot Service Hub alternatives: 13 compared

Teams look past HubSpot Service Hub when the jump from Starter to Professional seats and the required onboarding fee outweigh the value of a shared CRM record, or when support runs on a different CRM. Most move to Freshdesk or Zendesk for a dedicated desk, Help Scout for a free small-team plan, and Zammad when ticket data must stay under their control.

Short answer: The closest replacements for HubSpot Service Hub in our help desk software ranking are Freshdesk, Zendesk and Help Scout. Choose Freshdesk if you want a dedicated ticket desk with published per-agent prices and no CRM attached. All 13 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Help Desk Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from HubSpot Service Hub and when HubSpot Service Hub is still the better choice.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow in their ranked order. Why buyers look past HubSpot Service Hub

  1. The price jumps at Professional

The pricing page lists Starter from $7 per seat a month and Service Professional at $90 to $100 per seat. Professional also requires a one-time onboarding fee of $1,500, and Enterprise $3,500. A team that outgrows Starter pays for both the seat and the fee.

  2. AI and automation run on expiring credits

Customer Agent and other AI features draw on HubSpot Credits: 500 included on Starter, 3,000 on Professional, 5,000 on Enterprise. Extra credits cost $0.010 each, and unused credits do not roll over into the next month, so a quiet month wastes the allowance.

  3. The help desk is tied to the CRM

Service Hub works best on the same contact and company records as the rest of HubSpot. Support-only teams on another CRM pay for a platform they use in part, and leaving later means separating tickets from contacts, deals and marketing history.

When HubSpot Service Hub is still the right choice

Service Hub is still the right choice when your sales and marketing already run on HubSpot and you want tickets on the same contact and company record. Free tools cover two users, and the Customer Agent trial runs 14 days with a Professional or Enterprise seat. If the shared record is the point, a separate desk adds an integration to maintain.

What to expect when you switch from HubSpot Service Hub

  1. Export tickets as records, not as conversations

HubSpot's export article lets you export records by object, including tickets, and the file holds current property values and associations. Activities such as calls and notes need a separate route: individual contact export, activity reports or the engagements API. Plan the archive before you cancel.

  2. Plan for the contract, not the click

The terms renew a subscription automatically for the shorter of the prior term or one year. You turn off auto-renew in Account & Billing before the term ends, fees are otherwise non-refundable, and you may only downgrade at renewal on a new order form.

  3. Expect a smaller account to remain

If your paid subscription ends, HubSpot says it will continue to make its Free Services available, except where the agreement ended for cause. A free CRM can stay as the contact store while a separate desk takes over tickets.

Questions and answers

Can I export my tickets from HubSpot Service Hub?

Yes, as records by object. The export article includes tickets and downloads current property values and associations, in a file format you choose. It does not describe a conversation-thread export, so check how message history comes out before you commit.

How much notice do I need to cancel HubSpot Service Hub?

You turn off auto-renew in the Account & Billing section before the current term ends. The terms give no notice period beyond that, and say a subscription otherwise renews for the shorter of the prior term or one year, with fees non-refundable.

Will HubSpot raise the price at renewal?

It may. The terms allow an increase up to the then-current list price, and HubSpot says it will notify you at least 30 days before the renewal. To avoid the increase you must give notice of non-renewal before the term ends.

Do I lose my HubSpot account when I leave Service Hub?

Not necessarily. On expiry of a paid subscription HubSpot says it continues to make its Free Services available, unless the agreement was terminated for cause. It may also suspend or end free services without notice, so export what you need.

What happens to my HubSpot Credits when I move?

Unused credits reset monthly and do not roll over. Included credits are 500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise, and extra credits cost $0.010 each. A mid-month switch wastes whatever is left of that month's allowance.

Is there a free alternative to HubSpot's free tools?

Yes. Help Scout offers a free plan for five users, one Inbox and one Docs site, and Zoho Desk a free edition for three agents. HubSpot's free tools cover two users and carry HubSpot branding on live chat and email.
