Teams look past Midjourney when they want a free way in, private output without buying the dearest tiers, or a per-image price instead of a GPU-hour meter. They go to Adobe Firefly and Krea for a hosted workspace, to Recraft and Magnific for credit plans, and to Black Forest Labs or Replicate for API access.
Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within
the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently
1. Adobe Firefly
Adobe's generative image, video and audio app · United States

Switch from Midjourney if you want a free daily allowance and a vendor that states commercial safety for its own models.
Pricing: Firefly Standard is US$9.99/mo with 2,000 generative credits, Firefly Pro US$19.99/mo with 4,000; team licenses start at US$19.99/mo per license on annual billing, and there are free daily generations. (free plan)

Switch from Midjourney if you want to try for free and pick between several models in one workspace.
Pricing: Free tier with 100 compute units a day; paid plans start at $10 per month with 20% off for annual billing (Basic 4,000, Pro 20,000 and Max 54,000 compute units a month); Enterprise is custom. (free plan)
