Keeper alternatives: 11 compared

Buyers look past Keeper when the quote for SSO, reporting and compliance modules grows larger than the vault itself, or when a small office finds the admin console heavier than the job needs. Most move to Proton Pass, Passbolt or Bitwarden, and the PAM-minded look at Devolutions.

Short answer: The closest replacements for Keeper in our business password managers ranking are Proton Pass, Passbolt and Zoho Vault. Choose Proton Pass if you want a flat Essentials or Professional tier with a three-seat minimum. Everything below is drawn from the Best Business Password Managers in 2026 shortlist and judged only against Keeper, including when it is wiser to remain with Keeper.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow in their ranked order. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

Keeper at a glance

  • Headquarters: United States
  • Pricing model: Per user / month
  • Free option: Free trial
  • Built for: Regulated firms and MSPs
  • Wrong for: A twenty-person office that just wants shared logins and dislikes upsell calls. Bitwarden or Proton Pass cover that job with less configuration and a simpler invoice.
  • Place in our ranking: #6 of 12

Why buyers look past Keeper

  1. Each reporting layer is a separate line

Keeper's own pricing grid marks Advanced Reporting and Alerts, ITSM integrations and Compliance Reporting as add-ons, and SIEM integration as requiring Advanced Reporting first. A buyer who needs audit trails therefore prices three items, not one plan.

  2. Tier names hide the real floor

The Business Starter plan covers five to ten users, the Business plan lists a five-seat minimum, and Enterprise is sold by quote. SCIM, AD and LDAP sync and SAML SSO sit only in Enterprise. Amounts are filled in by script on the pricing page, so a quote is the reliable figure.

  3. The privileged-access roadmap is the product

Keeper's navigation leads with KeeperPAM, secrets management, endpoint privilege and remote browser isolation, and KeeperPAM is available through sales only. Teams that wanted a plain shared vault can find the sales process geared toward the larger suite.

What each alternative does differently

1. Proton Pass

Switzerland

Charges per user on a yearly toggle, with Essentials for three to thirty users and Professional above that. SSO, SCIM, SIEM, a command line tool and an SSH agent are Professional only. A 14-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee are listed. No add-on bundles for reporting.

Switch from Keeper if you want a flat Essentials or Professional tier with a three-seat minimum.

2. Passbolt

Luxembourg

The Community Edition is free under AGPLv3 with unlimited users. Pro costs €4.5 per user per month billed annually from ten users, adding LDAP provisioning, SSO and an activity log. A lapsed Pro subscription keeps running but stops receiving updates and support.

Switch from Keeper if you want source code you can audit and a free tier to start on.

3. Zoho Vault

India

Has an always-free plan, a 15-day trial without a card, and 10 percent off annual billing. Professional adds folder sharing, a command line and breach alerts. Enterprise carries AD integration, SSO, request-and-release workflow and SIEM, so the Keeper add-on list is mostly one tier here.

Switch from Keeper if you want access-request workflow and SIEM inside one plan rather than add-ons.

4. Bitwarden

United States

Lists Teams at $4 and Enterprise at $6 per user per month, billed annually. Teams already includes event logs, directory sync and SCIM. Enterprise adds passwordless SSO, policies and self-hosting. Every business user also receives a free Families plan, a perk Keeper's Business plan also lists.

Switch from Keeper if you want SCIM and event logs on the lower tier and self-hosting available.

Bitwarden in our ranking · Go to the vendor →

5. RoboForm

United States

The Business plan is shown at $3.33 per user per month billed annually, renewing at $39.95 a year. One plan covers SSO, SCIM, role-based access, activity logs and dark web alerts. Self-hosting is offered only to Enterprise customers with 1,000 or more users.

Switch from Keeper if you prefer one business plan that already includes SSO and SCIM.

6. Devolutions Password Manager (formerly Devolutions Hub)

Canada

Priced as stacked packages: workforce password management at $48 per user per year, remote access at $265, remote desktop management at $400 and PAM at $650. Runs on Devolutions Cloud or Devolutions Server. Suits IT staff who would otherwise buy Keeper's PAM side.

Switch from Keeper if you need vault, remote connections and privileged access from one IT-focused vendor.

7. NordPass

Netherlands

Sold as Teams, Business and Enterprise tiers in the category review, with identity-provider provisioning reserved for Enterprise. Its pricing site returned a bot check when we tried to confirm figures on 30 October, so verify the current plan limits with the vendor before comparing.

Switch from Keeper if you want a tiered vault from a consumer-known brand and will confirm limits directly.

8. Dashlane

United States

Business is split into Password Management, bought online per user on annual billing with a 14-day trial, and Credential Protection, sold through sales. The vault tier lists SIEM integration, SSO and SCIM, so those are not extra line items as at Keeper.

Switch from Keeper if you want SIEM, SSO and SCIM named inside the base vault package.

Dashlane in our ranking · Go to the vendor →

9. LastPass

United States

Teams, Business and Business Max, each with a 14-day trial, plus a free personal plan. Business lists 100-plus policies and three SSO apps; Business Max adds unlimited SSO apps, advanced MFA and AI, SaaS and web monitoring. Pricing placeholders did not render on our fetch.

Switch from Keeper if you want SSO app counts and MFA as plan tiers instead of separate modules.

10. 1Password

Canada

A Teams Starter Pack at $2.49 per user covers ten to twenty seats, then Business at $8.99 per user billed yearly. Okta, Entra ID and OneLogin integrations, SSO and SIEM streaming are listed on Business. A 14-day trial needs no card.

Switch from Keeper if you want published per-seat prices and identity integrations on a single Business tier.

11. CyberFOX Password Manager (formerly Password Boss)

United States

Now sold as CyberFOX Password Manager, aimed at managed service providers who handle client credentials. The site shows a 14-day trial and a Get Pricing route rather than a price list. It is a different shape from Keeper's direct Business and Enterprise tiers.

Switch from Keeper if you run an MSP and want a vendor whose password manager sits beside privilege tooling.

When Keeper is still the right choice

Stay with Keeper if you need its role-based enforcement policies, delegated administration across organizational nodes, or the FedRAMP High and GovRAMP authorizations that its pricing page lists for GovCloud only. It also fits firms that plan to grow into KeeperPAM or Secrets Manager under one vendor. If those are used today, the add-on cost buys something you would rebuild elsewhere.

What to expect when you switch from Keeper

  1. Export is capped by your own admin policy

Keeper's documentation lists CSV, JSON, PDF and encrypted KeePass (.kdbx) as export formats, and says that on Enterprise accounts export may be restricted by the administrator. Only the .kdbx file carries record attachments, so test one export early.

  2. Plan for the departing-employee vault

Keeper's Account Transfer moves a locked vault to another user and then deletes the source account. During migration decide whether shared folders or personal records hold the credentials, since each moves differently into a new tool's collections or vaults.

  3. Read the renewal clause before the cutover date

Keeper's terms ask for at least thirty days written notice before the renewal date to elect not to renew, and treat fees as nonrefundable once received. Put the notice date in the migration plan, not just the go-live date.

Questions and answers

Which formats can I export a Keeper vault to?

CSV, JSON, PDF and an encrypted KeePass (.kdbx) file, according to Keeper's documentation. Only the .kdbx export includes attachments stored in records, and an Enterprise administrator may restrict export for users.

How much notice does Keeper need if I do not renew?

At least thirty days of written notice before the renewal date, per Keeper's terms of use. The same terms say fees are nonrefundable once received, so cancel before the date and not after.

Do I need Enterprise for single sign-on with Keeper?

Yes, SAML 2.0 SSO, SCIM provisioning and AD and LDAP sync are listed on the Enterprise column of Keeper's pricing grid. Enterprise is priced through a quote request.

Is SIEM streaming included in a Keeper plan?

No. Keeper lists SIEM integration with the note 'ARAM required', so Advanced Reporting and Alerts has to be purchased first. Compliance Reporting is a further separate add-on.

What happens to a leaving employee's records in Keeper?

Account Transfer locks the user's vault and moves its records to another user in the organization, then deletes the source account. The action is one-directional, and roles can limit who may perform it.

Can a plain password manager replace KeeperPAM?

Not feature for feature. KeeperPAM is sold through sales only and adds session recording, just-in-time access and credential rotation. Of the options here, Devolutions lists PAM as its own $650 per user per year package.
