Dashlane alternatives: 11 compared

Buyers look past Dashlane when risk detection is sold as a second package on top of the vault, when an annual contract auto-renews with a 30-day notice window, or when they want a cheaper or self-hosted vault. Most go to Bitwarden or 1Password for a like-for-like vault, and to Keeper for administration depth.

Short answer: The closest replacements for Dashlane in our business password managers ranking are 1Password, Bitwarden and Keeper. Choose 1Password if you want a vault with developer tooling and a small-team pack priced under Dashlane's. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Business Password Managers in 2026, and each says where it differs from Dashlane and when Dashlane is still the better choice.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow in their ranked order. Facts from our business password managers ranking, last checked October 23, 2026.

Why buyers look past Dashlane

  1. Risk detection is a second package

Omnix Password Management is listed at $8 per user a month billed annually. Credential Protection, which holds phishing alerts and credential risk detection, is a separate $4 package. Buyers who want both pay the two prices together, unless they are quoted an Enterprise bundle.

  2. Annual terms renew on their own

Dashlane's Business Terms set a one-year initial term, then automatic one-year renewals unless the client gives written notice 30 days before expiry. Fee changes for a renewal are notified at least 45 days before the term ends. The Order can change these periods.

  3. Enterprise is sales-led above 50 users

Omnix Enterprise is described as built for organizations with more than 50 users, with custom volume pricing and dedicated account management. A company of that size gets no published price for the bundle, and we found no self-hosted edition on the pricing or business pages.

When Dashlane is still the right choice

Stay if your exposure is people rather than servers and you want Credential Protection. Dashlane describes it as detecting weak, reused or exposed logins on domains outside SSO and warning staff about phishing sites in the browser, whether or not they use the vault. Few rivals in this group list the same pairing. An existing rollout that staff already use is also worth keeping.

What to expect when you switch from Dashlane

  1. Export while the licence is live

The Business Terms say all licences end immediately on termination or expiry. Export before the end date, from Settings and Export data, which gives a ZIP of several CSV files. Bitwarden's guide has you import each CSV in turn, and attachments and Sends are re-created by hand.

  2. Treat the export file as a secret

The CSV export is not encrypted. 1Password's guide asks you to switch off backup software first so the file is not copied, and Keeper accepts Dashlane's password-protected .dash archive as an alternative. Delete the files from every device once the import has been checked.

  3. Rebuild sharing and passkeys by hand

The import guides we read describe moving items, and none promises that Dashlane's shared collections and permissions arrive intact. Plan to recreate them from your group list. 1Password says passkeys are not imported from Dashlane, so register the important ones again.

Questions and answers

How do I export my data from Dashlane?

Open Settings, choose Export data and select Export to CSV, which saves a ZIP file containing several CSV files. Proton's guide starts from the extension (More, then Open the app), while 1Password and Bitwarden start from the web account. Keeper also accepts a password-protected .dash archive.

Can I cancel Dashlane before the contract year ends?

The Business Terms we read give no right to cancel mid-term, only termination for uncured material breach, with a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees. Fees are otherwise non-refundable except as stated. Your Order can override the terms, so read it before promising a date to a new vendor.

How much notice does Dashlane need to stop a renewal?

Thirty days of written notice before the current term expires. Dashlane must announce fee changes for a renewal at least 45 days before the term ends, which leaves a window of about two weeks to compare quotes. Put the renewal date in a calendar when you sign.

Will my passkeys move to a new password manager?

Not into 1Password, whose import guide says passkeys are not imported from Dashlane. The Bitwarden, Proton and Keeper import guides we read do not mention passkeys. Dashlane says its business passkeys sit in secure enclaves rather than on the device, so treat them as accounts to re-register.

Can I keep Dashlane's phishing alerts and move the vault?

It looks possible but is not confirmed. The pricing page lists Credential Protection as its own $4 package and says it works whether or not employees use a password vault. Ask Dashlane sales whether it can be bought alone before you plan a split setup.

Which Dashlane company holds my contract?

Clients in the Eurozone contract with Dashlane SAS in Paris, and all other clients with Dashlane USA, Inc. in New York, unless the Order says otherwise. The terms select New York or French law to match. Check your Order, as it matters for a dispute and for the data processing addendum.
