Video interview software · 11 alternatives

HireVue alternatives: 11 compared

Buyers leave HireVue mostly because it is sold by demo only and built for large employers, so a small team cannot see a price or test the flow alone. Most go to Hireflix, Willo or Hirevire, which publish prices, or to Spark Hire and Cammio for a flat monthly fee.

Short answer: The closest replacements for HireVue in our video interview software ranking are Hireflix, Willo and Hirevire. Choose Hireflix if you want a published flat price and unlimited seats for one-way interviews. Everything below is drawn from the Best Video Interview Software in 2026 shortlist and judged only against HireVue, including when it is wiser to remain with HireVue.

Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. The first three alternatives go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow in their ranked order. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

HireVue at a glance

  • Pricing model: Quote only
  • Free option: None
  • Built for: Large employers with structured hiring
  • Wrong for: A company with fewer than a few dozen hires a year, or any buyer who needs a published price before a sales call. Start with Hireflix, Willo or Hirevire, which show prices and let a recruiter test the flow alone.
  • Place in our ranking: #4 of 12
  • Website: hirevue.com

Why buyers look past HireVue

  1. No published price

HireVue's pricing page lists no plans or figures. It offers a demo request and an ROI calculator, so a buyer must talk to sales before learning the cost. Teams comparing budgets across vendors cannot do that in an afternoon.

  2. Sized for mid-market and enterprise

The pricing page describes the platform as serving mid-market to enterprise customers. It also includes assessments and an AI interviewer next to interviewing. A team that only needs to record and rate answers may pay for scope it does not use.

  3. Applicant data sits under contract terms

HireVue's privacy policy says it does not cover customers' job applicants, whose data falls under the data processing terms signed with each customer. Buyers who want that handling spelled out on a public page look at vendors that publish it.

5. Cammio

Netherlands

Starts from EUR 620 a month and includes every video interviewing feature, Clips and Stories, unlimited support and a named client success manager. Its privacy policy says all data centers are in the EU, hosted with AWS. It links to 20+ applicant tracking systems.

7. Jobma

United States

Quote-only with custom packages based on volume, integrations and features. It combines one-way video, live structured interviews and ATS and HRIS integrations, and lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and GDPR. Data is stored in the US (Google Cloud, Iowa), which matters for EU-resident candidates.

Switch from HireVue if you want one-way and live interviews from a smaller vendor and US hosting is acceptable.

8. Talview

United States

Quote form that asks for candidates per year, with no figures shown. Its focus is proctoring and AI: an Ivy AI interviewer, live interview rooms, the Alvy AI proctor and live remote proctoring. It says EU candidates can be hosted on EU servers.

Switch from HireVue if interview integrity and remote proctoring matter more than a simple recording flow.

9. interviewstream

United States

Quote-only and aimed at a public-sector mix: it names K-12 school districts, hospital systems, city governments and universities alongside small businesses. It offers on-demand and live interviews. The security page describes an isolated virtual private cloud, MFA for administration and alignment with ISO 27002.

Switch from HireVue if you hire for schools, hospitals or local government and want a vendor that serves them.

10. Interviewer.AI

Singapore

Switch from HireVue if you want AI relevancy scoring and a credit-based plan with a free trial.

Switch from HireVue if you want knockout questions, keyword scoring and hidden candidate details for blind review.

When HireVue is still the right choice

Stay if you run structured hiring at large volume and want live and on-demand interviews, shared scorecards and routing, and Interview Builder guides in one platform. HireVue also syncs live interviews with Zoom, Teams or Webex and engages candidates by SMS and WhatsApp. A sales-led contract is normal at that size, and a small tool would not cover the same ground.

What to expect when you switch from HireVue

  1. Recordings and scores need an export plan

The pages we read do not describe how to download recordings or scorecards. Ask your HireVue contact in writing for a bulk export of videos, ratings and notes, and the timing, before you give notice.

  2. Candidate links and ATS connections break

Invitation links, question sets and any ATS integration are tied to your HireVue account. Rebuild questions in the new tool, reconnect the applicant tracking system, and tell open candidates which link to use.

  3. Check the contract before you leave

Pricing and terms are not public, so the notice period, renewal and data deletion clauses are in your order form and data processing terms. Read them first, and ask for deletion of stored candidate data once the export is verified.

Questions and answers

Can I export my interview recordings from HireVue?

The pages we read do not state an export method, so ask your account contact. The platform page mentions shareable recordings and shared scorecards but does not describe downloads. Request a written bulk export of videos, ratings and notes before notice.

How much notice does HireVue need to cancel?

The notice period is not on any public page, so it is in your own contract. HireVue publishes no terms with prices, only a demo request and an ROI calculator. Check your order form for term length and renewal wording.

What will HireVue cost at renewal?

No renewal price is published, so the figure comes from your quote. Pricing is sales-led and the pricing page shows no plans or figures. Ask for the renewal rate in writing before the notice date.

Who controls candidate data after I leave?

Applicant data is governed by the data processing terms between HireVue and you. HireVue's privacy policy says it does not cover customers' job applicants and sends candidates to the employer. Ask for deletion in writing once you have exported.

What breaks when I move my live interviews?

Zoom, Teams or Webex sync is tied to your HireVue setup, so rebuild it in the new tool. HireVue lists those three integrations on its platform page. Check that the new vendor supports your video tool and ATS.

Will candidates need to do anything different?

They will use a new link, and HireVue says candidates need no app download today. Check the new vendor's flow on a phone, send test invitations to your team, and update your careers page and emails.
