Restaurants look past TouchBistro when the $69 starting price turns into hardware, payment fees and quoted add-ons, or when they cannot leave a term that renews on its own. Most go to Lightspeed Restaurant, Square for Restaurants or SpotOn, hotel and large-group operators to Tabit or Oracle Simphony.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently

Clover is a payment and point-of-sale product that competes with TouchBistro in this category. Ask for the hardware term and the processor agreement in writing, since those two documents decide the cost of leaving it later.
Switch from TouchBistro if you would rather weigh a processor-linked system against your current quote.

Covers the labor side only: hiring, onboarding, scheduling, time clocking, payroll and team communication. Its pages show a Get started, it's free button. It does not replace a POS, so it pairs with a new till.
Switch from TouchBistro if you mainly want scheduling and payroll and plan to keep a separate till.

11. OpenTable
United States
A reservation and guest-book product, not a till. Its restaurant pricing address now redirects to a new page that did not load for us, so we quote no plan figures. It would replace only TouchBistro's reservations add-on.
Switch from TouchBistro if you only need to replace the reservations add-on and not the POS.

Questions and answers
How do I give notice to leave TouchBistro?
Deliver written notice at least 30 days before the current term ends. The merchant terms say the agreement renews for a period equal to the initial term unless either party gives that notice, and the term length is in your Sales Quote.
Can I cancel TouchBistro in the middle of a term?
The terms say you may not terminate before the then current term expires. TouchBistro reserves the right to end your license without notice, in which case your only remedy is a pro rata refund of prepaid fees.
Can I export my menu and sales data from TouchBistro?
The merchant terms we read describe no export tool or export format. Ask support or your account contact in writing for reports and menu data before your term ends, and keep copies, since content stops appearing after termination.
What happens to my data after I leave TouchBistro?
Your content ceases to appear on TouchBistro services soon after termination. The terms also let TouchBistro keep an archival copy and use data for any lawful business purpose, including benchmarks, both during and after the agreement.
Will my price change at renewal?
The terms say the renewal runs on the same term length unless the Sales Quote states otherwise, and they do not list a renewal price. Check the quote itself, and note that the terms allow TouchBistro to change its terms with posting.
Do I need new hardware when I move?
Likely yes if your hardware was bought through TouchBistro. The terms define hardware as the iPads and related equipment supplied under the quote, and the FAQ says financing is offered to venues with two or more terminals. Check what you still owe.
Which law governs a dispute with TouchBistro?
Ontario law and Canadian federal law govern, with individual arbitration in Toronto. This matters if you are outside Canada and expect to contest a renewal or fee.
