Best Accounts Receivable Software in 2026

The short answer

  1. #1 Chaser: Receivables chasing and cash forecasting for accounting-package users. Best for: Growing SMEs on Xero or QuickBooks.
  2. #2 Kolleno: AI order-to-cash platform with published starter plans. Best for: Teams wanting AI follow-ups at a printed price.
  3. #3 Satago: Credit checks, chasing and invoice finance in one UK tool. Best for: Small UK firms wanting credit data and chasing.

Visibility in this ranking can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review. The largest vendors in accounts receivable software cannot hold places 1 to 3. Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

The 12 tools, reviewed

#1 Chaser

Receivables chasing and cash forecasting for accounting-package users · United Kingdom · chaserhq.com

Credit control Payment chasing Cash flow forecast

Chaser earns first place by being easy to start and easy to price. Its pricing page lists the plans in six currencies, the first tier covers businesses under £4 million in revenue with four users, and integrations to Xero, QuickBooks and other packages sync both ways.

  • Pricing: Tiers by company revenue. Monthly tiers by annual revenue: Compact from £199, Core from £599, Complete from £899, plus a Custom tier; the Care service is an add-on. Free plan: free trial.
  • Best for: Growing SMEs on Xero or QuickBooks
  • Strengths: Email, SMS and phone reminders; Chaser Pay payment portal; Payment plans.

Where it falls short

Pricing rises quickly by revenue band: Core costs about three times Compact, and the Care service doubles the bill. Cash application and dispute workflows are lighter than in enterprise suites.

Wrong for

A company receiving thousands of unstructured remittances a day, or one on SAP or Oracle that needs deep cash application and deductions handling.

Visit Chaser →

#2 Kolleno

AI order-to-cash platform with published starter plans · United Kingdom · kolleno.com

Collections Cash application AI agents

Kolleno ranks second because it reaches further than the entry-level chasing tools without hiding its price. The two self-serve plans connect to Xero, QuickBooks and Sage Intacct, and Business Plus adds invoice dashboards, customer portfolios, workflows and reporting. Enterprise plans connect to NetSuite, Business Central, SAP and Oracle Fusion and add automatic reconciliation.

  • Pricing: Tiers, enterprise by quote. Business Pay from $545 a month and Business Plus from $995 on annual billing ($650 and $1,245 monthly); Enterprise tiers by quote. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Teams wanting AI follow-ups at a printed price
  • Strengths: Collections inbox management; Customizable payment portal; Payment links.

Where it falls short

Entry price is several times that of Chaser's or Satago's cheapest plans. Automatic reconciliation appears only on the Enterprise tiers, so the self-serve plans stop short of full cash application.

Wrong for

A freelancer or a ten-person firm with a few dozen invoices a month.

Visit Kolleno →

#3 Satago

Credit checks, chasing and invoice finance in one UK tool · United Kingdom · satago.com

Credit control Credit reports Invoice finance

Satago takes third place on the strength of its price and its credit data. The Basic plan covers 25 credit reports and 100 reminder emails a month, and higher plans add unlimited reminders, SMS, reminders sent from your own email address and card payments.

  • Pricing: Tiers per month. Basic £45 a month, Premium £80, Platinum £200, or less with annual billing; accountant plans from £50. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Small UK firms wanting credit data and chasing
  • Strengths: Customer credit reports and scores; Credit limit suggestions; Automated email reminders.

Where it falls short

Satago is a UK company with UK addresses and pounds throughout its pricing, and we did not verify coverage elsewhere.

Wrong for

A company with large international customers or complex remittances.

Visit Satago →

#4 BILL

Invoicing and payment collection inside an AP and AR platform · United States · bill.com

Invoicing Payments AP and AR

BILL sits fourth only because it is a dominant incumbent in its wider category. On receivables alone it is a modest but practical tool: invoices go out with a payment link, reminders run automatically, customers pay by ACH or card, and autopay can be set. Essentials works from CSV import and export, and Team adds two-way sync with QuickBooks and Xero.

  • Pricing: Per user / month. Essentials $49, Team $65 and Corporate $89 per user per month, Enterprise by quote; payment fees are separate. Free plan: free trial.
  • Best for: Small firms already paying bills in BILL
  • Strengths: Custom invoices; Recurring invoices; Automated payment reminders.

Where it falls short

Receivables are a feature of a bigger product, not its center.

Wrong for

A team whose problem is chasing hundreds of overdue accounts with disputes and remittance matching.

Visit BILL →

#5 Upflow

Collections, payments and cash application priced by invoiced revenue · France · upflow.io

Collections Cash application AI agents

Upflow earns fifth place with a pricing model that fits a growing finance team: plans follow invoiced revenue and invoice volume, and every plan has unlimited seats, so adding a collector costs nothing extra.

  • Pricing: Tiers by invoiced revenue. Plans from Starter (up to $10M invoiced revenue) to Enterprise (over $100M), all by quote, with unlimited user seats. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Mid-size B2B and SaaS finance teams
  • Strengths: Unlimited user seats; Gmail and Outlook two-way sync; Email, SMS, call and letter reminders.

Where it falls short

Every plan is by quote, so you cannot compare prices without a sales call. Key features such as the API, Salesforce sync and cash application agent sit on higher plans.

Wrong for

A business with a handful of customers that wants a printed monthly price.

Visit Upflow →

#6 Gaviti

Invoice-to-cash platform with unlimited users and workflows · United States · gaviti.com

Invoice to cash Disputes Credit

Gaviti ranks sixth because it covers more ground than most mid-market tools while keeping the commercial model plain. Unlimited users and workflows are included, so adding collectors, credit analysts and sales viewers does not move the price.

  • Pricing: Quote only. Custom quote based on invoice volume and workflows; unlimited users, workflows and permission profiles included. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Mid-size to large teams with ERP data
  • Strengths: Collections automation; Dispute management; AI cash application.

Where it falls short

Pricing is behind a form, and the site names no price range. Reviews we read come from vendor-selected testimonials, which are not independent.

Wrong for

A small business with a few dozen invoices a month.

Visit Gaviti →

#7 Invoiced

Invoice-to-cash platform backed by Flywire payments · United States · invoiced.com

Invoice to cash Global payments Automation

Invoiced is seventh because its strength is tied to payments. Under the Flywire name, its receivables automation connects to a payments network that supports many currencies and local methods, which matters when customers abroad do not want to wire money. Its pages describe an automation builder for custom workflows, late fee automation, cash application and an agentic AI layer for invoice-to-cash tasks.

  • Pricing: Quote only. No price list on the pages we read; demos are booked through the site. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: B2B teams collecting across borders
  • Strengths: Automated invoicing and dunning; Cash application and reconciliation; Global payments and multi-currency.

Where it falls short

Without a printed price you cannot compare cost before a demo.

Wrong for

A small firm with domestic customers and a QuickBooks file.

Visit Invoiced →

#8 Versapay

Invoice-to-cash with a collaborative customer portal · United States · versapay.com

Invoice to cash Customer portal Cash application

Versapay sits eighth because its design centers on the customer's side of the invoice. The portal lets buyers see invoices, pay, manage accounts and resolve disputes, and collections, cash application and reporting work from the same data.

  • Pricing: Quote only. No pricing page on the site; its pricing address returns a not-found page, so pricing comes from a sales conversation. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: ERP-based mid-market suppliers
  • Strengths: Digital invoicing and customer portal; Collections management; Cash application.

Where it falls short

No published price at all, and the sales path is the only route to a number. Our fetches returned little detail on setup time or contract terms.

Wrong for

A business with a small customer base that pays by wire and does not use portals.

Visit Versapay →

#9 Tesorio

Order-to-cash agents with AR forecasting · United States · tesorio.com

Agentic AR Forecasting Cash application

Tesorio ranks ninth because its strongest claim is the least standard one. Beside collections and cash application it describes an agent that submits invoices into customer supplier portals, with Ariba and Coupa shown in its demo, a chore that eats time in firms selling to large buyers.

  • Pricing: Quote only. No pricing or plan list on the site; contact is by demo or by speaking to sales. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Finance teams buying agentic automation
  • Strengths: Collections; Cash application; AR forecast.

Where it falls short

It states no prices, no free trial and no headquarters address, only an interactive demo. Much of the site is agent positioning, and the page offers little on how each agent performs on messy data.

Wrong for

A small company that wants a published price and a trial.

Visit Tesorio →

#10 Esker

Order-to-cash suite with e-invoicing for larger finance teams · France · esker.com

Order to cash E-invoicing Cash application

Esker is tenth because it is designed for larger organizations. Its order-to-cash pages list credit management, invoice delivery in several channels, payment, cash application, deductions and collections, plus claims and order management beside them. Global e-invoicing compliance sits in the same platform, with pages for France, Italy and Spain. Esker describes AI for payment prediction and cash application.

  • Pricing: Quote only. No price list on its site; solutions are sold by demand and quote. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Global firms needing AR plus e-invoicing
  • Strengths: Credit management; Invoice delivery; Payment.

Where it falls short

No published price and a project-style rollout. The wide suite means a team that needs only chasing pays for breadth it does not use.

Wrong for

A company with under a few hundred customers on an accounting package.

Visit Esker →

#11 Billtrust

Credit-to-cash platform for B2B suppliers · United States · billtrust.com

Credit to cash Payments Cash application

Billtrust is eleventh because it is an established incumbent, which places it after the independents in this order. Its strength is volume: a single interface for more than 260 customer AP portals, payment policies tuned per buyer, credit approval in minutes, and auto-applied remittances. The site lists industry pages for distributors, equipment, medical, retail and transportation.

  • Pricing: Quote only. No pricing published on the pages we read; quotes come from its sales team. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Distributors and manufacturers with large volumes
  • Strengths: Invoicing to 260+ AP portals; Payments network; Credit approval and monitoring.

Where it falls short

Pricing is private and the platform is built for scale, so a small team pays for capacity it will not use.

Wrong for

A business with a few hundred invoices a month or customers who pay by plain bank transfer.

Visit Billtrust →

#12 HighRadius

Enterprise order-to-cash and finance suite · United States · highradius.com

Enterprise O2C Cash application Deductions

HighRadius ends the list because it is the heaviest option, which is a mark of scale, not a flaw. It sells separate modules for collections, cash application, deductions, credit and e-invoicing, with ERP integrations for SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics and NetSuite, and says more than 1,500 companies use its products.

  • Pricing: Quote only. No price list; the site routes buyers to talk to an expert or book a demo. Free plan: none.
  • Best for: Large enterprises on SAP or Oracle
  • Strengths: Collections management; Cash application; Deductions management.

Where it falls short

It is built and priced for the enterprise, with no published numbers and a long selling process. A mid-size firm pays for modules in a platform that spans payables, treasury and consolidation.

Wrong for

Anyone who wants to start collecting more efficiently within a month on a modest budget.

Visit HighRadius →

What this category is

Accounts receivable software connects to the accounting system or ERP, reads open customer invoices, and runs the collection process around them: reminders by email, SMS or letter, a customer payment portal, dispute tracking, credit monitoring, and cash application that matches payments to invoices.

How we ranked these

Five tests, applied to every product. The order is not the tests alone: places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them, and the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order.

  • Setup: The ledger sync and the customer list you have to clean first.
  • The real price: Tiers by revenue, per user, per invoice, and the payment fee on top.
  • Getting your data out: Contact history, dispute notes and promise-to-pay records.
  • Independence from the vendor: Who holds the money, the processor and the roadmap.
  • Who it's for: Pick by the number of customers you chase, not by company size.

What the data says about this market

Of the twelve products here, seven list a United States address or a US entity in their own pages: BILL, HighRadius, Billtrust, Versapay, Invoiced, Tesorio and Gaviti. Three are rooted in the United Kingdom, Chaser, Kolleno and Satago, and two in France, Upflow and Esker. The split shows up in the channel. The British three built around accounting packages and accountants, and Chaser runs a partner program for accountants and bookkeepers.

How to choose

  1. Measure where the money actually stalls. Export your open invoices and sort them by days past due.
  2. Test the tool on your ugliest ten customers. Pick ten accounts: one that always pays late, one that pays several invoices in a lump, one with multiple billing contacts, one that deducts fees, one in another currency, one in dispute, and so on.
  3. Price the whole year, including the payment fees. Build one spreadsheet with twelve months of invoices, the number of users who would log in, and the share of payments you expect through the vendor's portal.

Questions and answers

What is the best accounts receivable software in 2026?

Chaser ranks first of 12, best for growing SMEs on Xero or QuickBooks. Kolleno is second (teams wanting AI follow-ups at a printed price) and Satago third (small UK firms wanting credit data and chasing). Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands, wherever the category has them.

How much does accounts receivable software cost?

Published entry prices run from £45 a month for Satago's Basic plan and £199 for Chaser's Compact tier to $545 a month for Kolleno's Business Pay on annual billing and $49 per user per month for BILL.

What is the difference between accounts receivable software and invoicing software?

Invoicing software creates and sends the invoice. Accounts receivable software starts after that: it watches which invoices are open, reminds the customer, takes the payment, applies it, and reports on late accounts.

When is a spreadsheet and a reminder email no longer enough?

The usual breaking point is when one person spends more than a few hours a week on chasing, when you cannot say from memory which customers promised payment this week, or when customers claim never to have received an invoice.

Does accounts receivable software work with Xero and QuickBooks?

Yes for the light products. Chaser, Kolleno and Satago list Xero and QuickBooks Online among their standard connections, and BILL syncs two-way with QuickBooks and Xero from its Team plan, while its Essentials plan uses CSV import and export.

What is cash application and do I need it?

Cash application is the step that matches an incoming payment to the invoices it settles. It sounds trivial until a customer pays seven invoices with one transfer, short-pays by a fee, or sends a remittance PDF with no invoice numbers.

Can customers pay directly from the reminder email?

Most products include a payment link or a customer portal, and some let customers see all open invoices, download copies and raise a dispute.

How do I keep chasing from damaging customer relationships?

Set the tone and timing per customer segment rather than one sequence for everyone. Strategic accounts get a personal first message from the account owner, and the software only drafts follow-ups.

Do I need a credit check tool inside the receivables software?

If you sell on terms to new customers, yes, at least a basic one. Satago combines real-time credit reports with its reminders, Gaviti lists credit searches in over 200 countries, and Chaser and Billtrust describe credit monitoring or risk features.

What happens to my data and my customers' saved cards if I switch?

Invoices and payments stay in your ledger. Collection notes, dispute history and promise-to-pay dates stay in the vendor's database unless you export them, so request a sample export before signing.

Is there a free accounts receivable software for a small business?

None of the twelve here advertises a permanent free plan on its own pages. Chaser and BILL describe a free trial, and the others offer demos or guided tours.
