Buyers look past Planview when they want a price before a sales call, when a twelve-product estate makes the purchase hard to scope, or when the governance depth outweighs a smaller portfolio. Most move to Celoxis or Meisterplan for mid-sized PMOs, or to Triskell and Planisware when the need stays enterprise-wide.
Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within
the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently
Priced per user in public tiers, from $10 for scheduling to $45 for billing and a client portal, billed annually. Intake, risk and costing begin at the $35 tier. Read-only and client users cost nothing. It runs hosted in a U.S. or EU data centre or on your own servers.
Switch from Planview if you want a PMO tool with a visible per-user price and on-premise or EU hosting.
Official site → · Our Celoxis review
The price follows the number of schedulable resources, and every login is free and unlimited. The product concentrates on capacity, what-if scenarios and goals, with Jira, Asana and Smartsheet integrations. Its maker, itdesign, states it is self-funded. It does not run task delivery for you.
Switch from Planview if you want resource capacity and scenarios as the core, with unlimited free viewers.
Official site → · Our Meisterplan review
Growth costs €22.50 per user monthly on annual billing, for 20 to 50 users and up to 50 projects. Enterprise starts at €45 with a 50-user minimum and adds cost of delay, cash flow forecasts and what-if analysis. Pricing is stated outright, and a half-price start is tied to agreed delivery metrics.
Switch from Planview if shared teams are your bottleneck and you want delay priced in money.
Official site → · Our Epicflow review
Stays in the enterprise class with OKR cascading, balanced scorecards and demand planning, and is smaller than Planview, with a stated 60-plus staff. The site offers a free trial and a demo but gives no price. Expect a configuration project of similar shape.
Switch from Planview if you still need strategy, OKRs and demand management but want a smaller vendor.
Official site → · Our Triskell review
A French vendor with named lines for turnkey PPM (Orchestra), IT portfolios (Horizon), product development (Nova) and capital planning (Valoris). The site leads with an AI layer called Prisma. No prices or trial appear, so the evaluation is demo-led, as it is at Planview.
Switch from Planview if your portfolio is R&D, IT or capital-heavy and you want a specialist line.

6. Smartsheet
United States
Grid-based work with published seat prices: Pro $9 and Business $19 per member monthly on yearly billing. Portfolios and Scenario Planning need Enterprise, which has a 10-member minimum and a quote. Contributors are free. Portfolio logic is lighter than a purpose-built suite.
Switch from Planview if your teams already work in sheets and need portfolio roll-ups, not a full PPM suite.
Official site → · Our Smartsheet review
Board-based and sold per seat, free for two seats and €12 or €19 for Standard and Pro at ten seats on annual billing. Portfolio and resource management appear in the Enterprise plan, priced by quote. Strong on flexible workflows, thinner on funding governance.
Switch from Planview if you want a flexible work platform for everyone and portfolio views only at the top.

Free, Team at $10 and Business at $25 per user monthly on annual billing. Advanced resource and capacity planning, budgeting and BI reporting sit on Pinnacle, which is quoted. Pricing applies to purchases from January 21, 2026, and add-ons are charged separately.
Switch from Planview if you want request forms and Gantt for delivery teams, with portfolio planning as a quoted extra.
Official site → · Our Wrike review
A free tier for up to five users and three projects. Critical path, baselines and the portfolio dashboard begin on Enterprise, and Ultimate adds 100 read-only users. It is a dashboard over projects, with no demand intake or scenario modeling on the pages we read.
Switch from Planview if your budget is small and a portfolio dashboard over Gantt projects is enough.

Priced per resource seat: Lite $7 and Standard $11 monthly, with a 20-seat minimum and a 30-day trial. It covers scheduling, capacity charts, budgets and rate cards. SSO via SAML and unlimited custom fields need the quoted Advanced plan. No funding gates.
Switch from Planview if your real problem is who is free next month, not portfolio funding.

11. Kantata
United States
A professional services automation product that joins resourcing, financials and delivery for billable work, with a Salesforce edition. Pricing is quote-only and tailored to company size. It fits consultancies and agencies better than an internal PMO deciding which projects to fund.
Switch from Planview if you sell project time to clients and need utilization and margin in the same tool.

Questions and answers
Does Planview publish a price list?
No. Planview.com has no pricing page, and the product pages we read list demos and trials. The category entry for this tool says quote only. Ask for a written quote that names the product and modules before comparing.
Which Planview product do I have?
It depends on how you bought it. Planview lists Portfolios, AdaptiveWork, AgilePlace, PPM Pro, ProjectPlace, ChangePoint, ProjectAdvantage (formerly Sciforma) and others. Check your contract or your login page, which names the product.
Can I leave Planview for something cheaper per user?
Yes, but check the unit. Celoxis, Wrike and Smartsheet price per user or member, Meisterplan and Runn per resource, and Epicflow per user. Count planners and schedulable people separately, since the totals differ.
Is there a mid-sized alternative with published prices?
Yes. Celoxis lists $10 to $45 per standard user monthly, billed annually, with a 5-user minimum, and Epicflow lists €22.50 to €45 per user. Meisterplan, Triskell and Planisware leave the figure to a quote or trial.
Will scenario planning carry over?
Mostly as a concept, not as data. Meisterplan, Triskell, Epicflow Enterprise and Smartsheet Enterprise all list what-if or scenario features, but you rebuild the scenarios there. Test one real decision in a trial before committing.
Do I need an on-premise option?
Celoxis states that the same product runs hosted in a U.S. or EU data centre or on your own infrastructure. For the other tools we did not read hosting terms, so confirm regions and self-hosting with the vendor.
