Typeform vs Jotform
Typeform is built around the respondent: one question per screen, designed so that customers and prospects finish. Jotform is built around the submission: payments, e-signatures, approvals and PDFs attached to a conventional form builder. Marketing and customer-success teams chasing completion rate pick Typeform; operations teams that need registrations, applications and feedback in one tool pick Jotform.

Which one to choose
Choose Typeform if
the survey goes to customers or prospects, completion rate decides whether the data is usable, and the questionnaire is short enough to work one question at a time.

Where they differ
The respondent's side of the screen
Typeform shows one question at a time, full screen, and reads more like a conversation than a form, which is why it is used for external surveys and lead capture on landing pages. Jotform has a comparable card layout, but its default response design is less polished. When the audience owes you nothing, Typeform's presentation is the safer bet.
Edge: Typeform
Everything around the questionnaire
Jotform covers payment collection, e-signatures, approval workflows, PDF generation, an offline mobile app, a HIPAA option and a Tables view for working the submissions. Typeform's surroundings point elsewhere: hidden fields, variables and native integrations that push responses to HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack or Google Sheets. For process work that starts with a form, Jotform covers more ground.
Edge: Jotform
Long and grid-heavy questionnaires
Typeform's single-question layout turns a long matrix-style survey into a tedious sequence of screens for the respondent. Jotform began as a conventional form builder and supports matrix questions, scoring and conditional logic, with a card layout available when you want one. For a twenty-item rating grid, Jotform is the less painful format.
Edge: Jotform
Caps, tiers and branding
Both meter volume: Typeform by responses, Jotform by submissions and storage. Typeform's limits are tight enough that one popular survey can force an upgrade mid-month, and team features and branding removal sit on higher tiers. Jotform's lower-tier limits are modest too, and its free plan carries Jotform branding. Which meter hurts depends on your volumes.
Edge: even
Tally: Typeform 1, Jotform 2, even 1.
When neither fits
If both meters are the objection, Tally is the most generous free form and survey builder in this category, though its analysis is minimal. If the survey is a recurring NPS or CSAT program rather than a one-off, SurveySparrow has the automation for that built in.

Questions and answers
Is Typeform or Jotform better for customer surveys?
Typeform, in most cases. Its one-question-per-screen format is designed for external audiences and completion rate, and it needs little design effort. Jotform can imitate the layout with cards, but its default design is less polished. Jotform becomes the better choice when the survey is long and full of matrix questions.
Can Jotform replace Typeform for lead capture?
It can collect the same information, and it adds payments and approval workflows Typeform is not built around. Typeform is commonly used on landing pages and pushes leads into HubSpot or Salesforce through native integrations. The decision is between a more engaging form and a tool that does more after submission.
Do Typeform and Jotform offer proper survey analysis?
Neither does. Typeform has response summaries but no real cross-tabs, significance testing or weighting. Jotform's reporting tool makes charts and stops at the same point. Anyone who needs statistical reporting should treat both as collection tools and analyze elsewhere, or use a research platform.
