Teams look past VWO when pricing is a quote based on monthly active users, when the product now sits inside the merged Wingify group with AB Tasty, or when they want a free or self-hosted tool. Most go to GrowthBook or Convert for web tests, or to PostHog and Statsig when engineers run the experiments.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently
1. GrowthBook
United States
Open-source experimentation and feature-flag tool that reads results from your own data warehouse. Starter is free for 3 users and 1 project, Pro is $40 per seat a month for up to 30 users, and Enterprise is quoted. A self-hosted open-source plan sits beside the cloud plans.
Switch from VWO if you want a printed per-seat price, a free tier and results computed in your own warehouse.

Web A/B testing sold on printed monthly prices: Growth is $299 a month billed annually ($399 monthly) for 100,000 tested users, Pro adds multivariate and full-stack testing from $420 a month on annual billing, Enterprise is quoted. Its pricing page advertises a free VWO migration and a 15-day trial.
Switch from VWO if you run marketing-led web tests and want a published tested-user price with migration help.

Combines web experimentation, feature management and personalization. Its plans page lists a Starter at $495 a month for 10 experiments and 50,000 visitors, plus a free 30-day trial of up to 3 experiments. Enterprise is custom and offers EU or US data residency and an on-premise script option.
Switch from VWO if you need EU data residency or an on-premise setup and accept a higher entry price.

Product analytics, session replay and feature flags in one account, with experiments built on the flags. Each month includes 1 million flag requests free and experiments are billed with flags, after which billing is usage-based and needs a card. Offers Bayesian and frequentist analysis, with no visual page editor stressed.
Switch from VWO if engineers run the tests and you want analytics and replay beside them on a free monthly allowance.

Experiments, feature flags, analytics and replay on one event-metered platform. Developer is free with 2 million events a month, Pro is $150 a month with 5 million events and then $0.05 per 1,000, and Enterprise adds warehouse-native deployment. Built for product and engineering teams more than page editors.
Switch from VWO if your product team wants event-based pricing with a free developer plan and a warehouse-native option.

6. LaunchDarkly
United States
A feature-flag platform where experiments are one capability. The Developer plan is $0 with unlimited seats and no limit on A/B tests, while Foundation bills per use: $10 per service connection and $8.33 per 1,000 client-side monthly users on yearly billing. Aimed at release control, not marketing page edits.
Switch from VWO if your tests are server-side releases and flag governance matters more than a visual editor.

7. Amplitude
United States
Product analytics first, with experimentation, session replay and guides on the same platform. The Free plan allows limited experiments with 2 million events a month, Plus starts at $0 for the first 2 million events but needs a card, and Growth and Enterprise are quoted on event volume.
Switch from VWO if you already analyze behavior in Amplitude and want tests run against the same event data.

8. Optimizely
United States
A broad digital experience suite with agentic experimentation, a content platform and feature management. Its pricing page publishes no figures: every plan is packaged individually after you describe your needs. Lists A/B, multi-page, feature and server-side tests and a warehouse-native analytics option.
Switch from VWO if you want an enterprise suite and accept another quote-based negotiation.

9. Datadog Experiments
United States
Experiments inside the Datadog observability platform, measured against metrics in your own warehouse. The pricing page lists it from $450 per launched experiment a month on annual billing, or $575 on demand, billed only after 500 subjects and 3 days of data. No web editor is described.
Switch from VWO if you already run Datadog and want experiment results beside performance data.

10. Harness Feature Management & Experimentation
United States
Feature flags, configs and experiments sold as a module of the Harness DevOps platform. The pricing page lists it in the DevOps plan and shows no standalone figure, so cost depends on a sales quote. Its pitch is runtime governance with approvals, policies and audit trails for engineering teams.
Switch from VWO if you already deploy with Harness and want flags and experiments under the same policies.

11. Adobe Target
United States
Adobe's testing and personalization product within Experience Cloud, with Analytics for Target, Audiences and Recommendations integrations. The documentation we read states no price, so cost is a matter for Adobe sales. It also describes an MCP server in public beta that connects Target to tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.
Switch from VWO if your company already licenses Adobe Experience Cloud and wants testing inside that stack.

Questions and answers
How much does VWO cost?
Wingify does not publish a price for VWO. Its pricing page states custom pricing based on traffic volume, selected products and plans, and implementation scope, and pricing is based on monthly active users depending on the product. Growth, Pro and Enterprise each end in a demo request.
Is VWO the same company as AB Tasty?
Wingify, the company behind VWO, announces on its site that AB Tasty and VWO have united. Its about page describes the two as former rivals joining under the Wingify name, and the site shows separate Wingify and AB Tasty logins. We found no page on how the product lines will be combined.
Can I export my data when I leave VWO?
Partly, and you should ask for the rest in writing. The pricing page lists CSV and PDF or JPEG export of analytics reports, and API access is listed in the Enterprise web-experimentation plan. We found no page describing a full export of campaign history.
How long does VWO keep my data?
VWO keeps data for 13 months in every product except behavior analytics. Behavior analytics data is kept for 30 days on Growth, 60 days on Pro and 90 days on Enterprise, and add-ons extend retention. Save any report you need before the term ends.
Is there a free alternative to VWO?
Yes, several tools publish a free plan. GrowthBook Starter is free for 3 users, Statsig Developer is free with 2 million events a month, LaunchDarkly Developer is $0, and PostHog gives a monthly free allowance. Each is built more for engineers than for marketers editing pages.
Can I self-host a VWO alternative?
Yes. GrowthBook lists an open-source self-hosted plan beside its cloud plans, and Kameleoon lists an on-premise setup at Enterprise. VWO's own Enterprise self-hosting option only hosts the Wingify library and campaign files on your servers, so the platform itself stays with Wingify.
