Splashtop sells separate, clearly priced products for support and remote access, charged per user or per concurrent technician, and has avoided a breach like those seen elsewhere in 2024. TeamViewer is the name end users know and bundles users, channels and devices into larger licenses. Small IT teams and small MSPs choose Splashtop; large helpdesks with unusual devices choose TeamViewer.

Splashtop lists remote access from $6 a month for one user and its SOS support product from $22 a month per concurrent technician, billed annually, with mobile devices included and a choice of 10 or 300 managed computers per license. TeamViewer sells bundles of licensed users, channels and managed devices, and lists mobile device support as an add-on. For everyday support, Splashtop's model is simpler.

TeamViewer supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, and its Tensor tier extends to embedded systems, point-of-sale and industrial equipment, with an augmented reality add-on for field work. Splashtop reaches Windows, Mac and Linux machines and supports iOS and Android with a user present; unattended Android and IoT access need its Enterprise plan. TeamViewer's range is the broader one.

Security track record

Splashtop has had no publicly disclosed breach on the scale of those that hit several rivals in 2024. TeamViewer reported a June 2024 intrusion into its corporate IT network, which it attributes to the APT29 group; employee directory data was copied, and it says the separate product environment and customer data were not touched. For software with standing access to every machine, the cleaner record counts.

Single sign-on and where it runs

Both vendors keep single sign-on for their top tiers. Splashtop puts SSO, SIEM logging and IP whitelisting in its Enterprise plans, and TeamViewer puts SSO and conditional access in Tensor; both are custom-priced. The difference is deployment: Splashtop offers an on-premises option, while TeamViewer describes Tensor as a cloud platform. Buyers who must host the service themselves have a route with Splashtop.

When neither fits

Is Splashtop cheaper than TeamViewer?

The two list prices in different currencies, so compare structure. Splashtop lists remote access from $6 a month per user and SOS support from $22 a month per concurrent technician, billed annually. TeamViewer showed us 17.90 euros a month for one user with three managed devices, and 83.90 euros for a 15-user Premium license.

Do Splashtop and TeamViewer support mobile devices?

Both do. Splashtop SOS covers attended support of iOS and Android devices, and unattended Android access is part of its Enterprise plan. TeamViewer supports iOS and Android and lists mobile device support as an add-on to its subscriptions. Test your specific devices during the trial.

Which is easier for end users, Splashtop or TeamViewer?

TeamViewer has the edge in familiarity: many users already know how to open it and read out an ID, which shortens support calls. Splashtop's strength is on the technician side, with smooth sessions on modest connections and good multi-monitor handling.

Do Splashtop and TeamViewer include single sign-on?

Only in their top tiers. Splashtop lists SSO with identity providers such as Okta, JumpCloud and OneLogin in its Enterprise plans, and TeamViewer lists SSO and conditional access in Tensor. Both tiers are priced on request, so a company that requires SSO for technicians needs a quote either way.
