Pipedrive vs HubSpot
Pipedrive is built around the next action on each deal, and a sales team can be running in days. HubSpot starts with a free CRM and grows into a suite where marketing, sales and service share one record, at steep jumps between editions. A team that wants only a pipeline picks Pipedrive; a company that intends to buy several hubs picks HubSpot.

Where they differ
Rep adoption and speed to value
Pipedrive's board shows each rep the next step on each deal, overdue activities turn red, and setup takes days rather than months. That is why adoption holds where earlier CRMs went stale. HubSpot's Sales Hub is clean enough that reps pick it up quickly too, but a full setup is broader. For a pipeline-only team, Pipedrive is faster.
Edge: Pipedrive
Marketing and service on one record
HubSpot's strength is the shared database with Marketing Hub and Service Hub: marketing sees which campaigns produced revenue and support sees the deal history. Pipedrive has no real customer service module and sells campaigns as a paid add-on. If one record across functions matters, HubSpot is the choice.
Edge: HubSpot
Starting free
HubSpot's free CRM covers up to 2 users with no credit card, and its Starter plan is listed at $7 per seat per month on annual billing and $20 monthly. Pipedrive lists a free trial and no permanent free plan on the pages we checked. For a team that wants to start at zero, HubSpot is ahead.
Edge: HubSpot
Where the bill grows
Pipedrive's seat price is understandable, but Campaigns, Projects and website visitor tracking are paid add-ons, and Premium and Ultimate include some of them. HubSpot's Professional and Enterprise editions require one-time onboarding fees of $1,500 and $3,500 on the page we fetched, and its forecasting and custom reporting sit in Professional. Pipedrive's price figures were not retrievable for us, so we do not declare a winner.
Edge: even
Tally: Pipedrive 1, HubSpot 2, even 1.
When neither fits
A sales organization with territories, approval chains and a revenue operations team fits neither well. Salesforce Sales Cloud is the heavier option, and Zoho CRM sits between them in cost.

Questions and answers
Does Pipedrive or HubSpot have a free plan?
HubSpot does: a free CRM for up to 2 users, no credit card required. Pipedrive lists a free trial but, on our category notes, no permanent free plan. Paid HubSpot starts with Starter and Pipedrive starts with Lite.
How much does HubSpot Sales Hub cost?
The page we fetched lists Starter at $7 per seat per month billed annually or $20 monthly. Professional and Enterprise are priced per seat, and require one-time onboarding fees of $1,500 and $3,500. That page showed inconsistent per-seat figures for Professional and Enterprise, so confirm those with HubSpot.
What does Pipedrive charge extra for?
Pipedrive's support documentation names LeadBooster and Projects as optional add-ons, plus top-ups for items such as API tokens and leads. Premium and Ultimate include some add-ons at no extra charge. Seats are charged whether or not they are assigned.
Which is better for a small sales team, Pipedrive or HubSpot?
For a pipeline-only team, we rank Pipedrive first in our CRM list and HubSpot fourth. HubSpot becomes the better choice when marketing and support will share the same record.
