Cisco Webex alternatives: 12 compared

Teams look past Webex when their colleagues and clients already sit in Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet, or when they want one cheaper meetings tool without a phone system attached. Most go to Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, and to Jitsi Meet or Nextcloud Talk when they want to host the software themselves.

Short answer: The closest replacements for Cisco Webex in our video conferencing software ranking are Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. Choose Zoom if your clients and partners already send Zoom links and you want the default tool. All 12 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Video Conferencing Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Cisco Webex and when Cisco Webex is still the better choice.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

Why buyers look past Cisco Webex

  1. Bigger meetings mean a quote

The Webex pricing page lists 100 attendees on Free, 200 on Webex Meet and up to 1,000 only on Enterprise, which is quoted. Teams that run large town halls or classes hit the ceiling and must talk to sales.

  2. Useful extras are separate line items

Real-Time Translation is listed at $300 per license a year, and the Call Me add-on at $48 a year for the US and Canada or $429 for 70 countries. A plan price therefore understates what a team that needs them will pay.

  3. A tight free tier and a bundled phone plan

The free plan ends meetings at 40 minutes. The step above, Webex Suite at $22.50 per user per month, adds a business phone number and calling. Teams that want video only compare against cheaper meeting-only plans.

When Cisco Webex is still the right choice

Stay if you need large audiences and a security posture beyond the mid-market. The Webex pricing page lists Enterprise with up to 1,000 attendees, unlimited cloud recording and FedRAMP authorized security, and Webex Suite adds calling to the same plan. A public body or regulated company that wants meetings and phone from one vendor has few simple swaps.

What to expect when you switch from Cisco Webex

  1. Keep your recordings

The pricing page lists local recording on Free and 10 GB of cloud recording on Meet. Download cloud recordings and any shared files before the plan ends, and check that the new tool can play them.

  2. Switch the links before the licenses

Meeting invitations carry Webex links in calendars and recurring series. Recreate recurring meetings in the new tool first, tell outside guests, and run both in parallel until the old links stop being used.

How much does Webex cost?
