Teams look past Vimeo when per-seat pricing and a fixed bandwidth ceiling stop matching how they publish, when live events or security controls sit on higher tiers, or when they want video as infrastructure rather than a hosted page. Most move to Wistia for marketing video, or to Bunny Stream, Mux and Cloudflare Stream for usage-based hosting.
Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within
the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. How it works:

Questions and answers
Can I download all my videos from Vimeo at once?
No, the help center states that bulk downloading is not supported. You download videos one at a time, and only where downloads are enabled for that video. Owners on a paid plan can also enable the Keep source video files setting so that the original upload stays available.
Does Vimeo store my original upload?
Only if you turn it on. The setting is called Keep source video files, sits under Account Settings, requires a paid plan, and does not restore files removed earlier. The help article does not say whether stored sources count against your storage quota.
What happens if I go over Vimeo's bandwidth limit?
The limit is 2TB a month on self-serve plans. Vimeo reaches out after two months above 2TB in a year, or one month above 10TB, and gives seven days to respond. An unresolved account risks suspension, so embedded videos stop playing for viewers.
How many people can share one Vimeo plan?
The comparison table lists 1 user on Starter, 5 on Standard and 10 on Advanced, with a custom number on Enterprise. The price is quoted per seat per month, so a larger team multiplies the base price, not just storage.
Which Vimeo features sit behind Enterprise?
DRM, geo-blocking, SSO, SCIM, data residency, audit logs, a SOC 2 Type II report, a DPA, custom permissions and a 99.9% uptime SLA are listed as Enterprise-only. Teams that need them for a security review should compare quoted vendors early.
Will my captions and chapters move with my videos?
Not automatically. Vimeo lets you upload and download transcripts, but chapters, calls to action and player settings are tied to its player. Export transcripts first, then check whether the new platform accepts caption files on upload.
