Lattice alternatives: 11 compared

Buyers look past Lattice when the annual contract floor, the add-on pricing for compensation and career modules, or a bundle they only half use no longer fits. Most go to 15Five, Leapsome or Culture Amp for a similar people-platform scope, or to Small Improvements and PerformYard for a leaner review tool.

Short answer: The closest replacements for Lattice in our Performance management software ranking are 15Five, Leapsome and Culture Amp. Choose 15Five if you want a like-for-like people platform with published prices and manager coaching on offer. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Performance Management Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Lattice and when Lattice is still the better choice.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

Why buyers look past Lattice

  1. A contract floor and annual billing

Lattice states a minimum annual agreement of $4,000, bills all contracts annually and bills in US dollars only. A team of twenty on the cheapest base product reaches that floor only by adding modules. Small companies and non-US finance teams compare tools without that structure.

  2. Add-ons sit outside the base price

The pricing page sells Performance, Goals & OKRs and Engagement as base products, then lists Compensation at $6 and Grow at $4 per seat a month as add-ons. A company that wants reviews, pay cycles and career tracks pays for three lines, and Enterprise is a custom quote.

  3. Scope larger than the problem

The platform spans reviews, talent reviews, PIPs, succession, engagement, goals, compensation, an HR AI agent and analytics. A team that only runs a yearly review and a few check-ins carries a product built for a full people function, and pays for the gap.

What each alternative does differently

1. 15Five

Check-in based performance management with manager coaching · United States

The nearest peer in scope: reviews, OKRs, 360 feedback and engagement surveys, sold as three published packages. Compensation is a separate product. Manager coaching content is a distinct per-manager add-on, so a buyer wanting training pays beyond the platform seats.

Switch from Lattice if you want a like-for-like people platform with published prices and manager coaching on offer.

Pricing: Published per-user monthly prices billed annually: Engage about $4, Perform about $11, Total Platform about $16; manager training priced separately. (none)

2. Leapsome

Performance, engagement and learning platform from Berlin · Germany

Sells separate modules priced per employee a month, shown on its pricing page in euros, dollars or pounds: Performance Reviews, Goals & OKRs, Engagement, Learning, Compensation. It also pushes its own HRIS foundation, so the pitch leans toward replacing the HR system, not sitting beside it.

Switch from Lattice if you want to buy modules individually and may later move your HR system onto the same vendor.

Pricing: Quote-based per-employee pricing; modules are bought singly or combined on contracts of at least a year, and the Customer Success team is reserved for contracts of 6,000 euros or more a year. (free trial)

3. Culture Amp

Employee engagement platform with performance and development · Australia

Engagement is the core product, with Perform sold separately and both on quoted pricing. Tiers vary by company size, from under 200 to over 1,000 employees, with more guided help for larger accounts. It suits a survey-led program better than a goals-led one.

Switch from Lattice if your priority is engagement surveys and benchmarking, with performance reviews as the second product.

Pricing: Quote-based annual subscription priced by employee count, product and service tier, with Engage and Perform sold as separate products; development tools are now part of Perform. (none)

4. PerformYard

Flexible review software that fits your existing process · United States

Two packages, Performance and Talent Development, each priced per person a month and billed annually. Onboarding, training and a dedicated success manager are stated as included in every contract. Pulse surveys sit inside the Performance package, while compensation and succession need the second one.

Switch from Lattice if you run a review process with custom rating scales and want onboarding support included.

Pricing: Published per-person monthly price of roughly $5 to $15, billed annually, for each of two packages: Performance, and Talent Development with compensation, competencies and succession. (none)

Full review: #5 of 13 in our ranking · Visit PerformYard →

5. Small Improvements

Affordable feedback and review tool for small teams · Germany

Three published tiers on annual billing, and a 30 day free trial. The cheapest covers reviews and praise only; objectives, 1:1 meetings and pulse surveys start on the middle tier. A minimum price applies, so tiny teams should read the checkout terms first.

Switch from Lattice if you want a lean, lower-priced review and feedback tool and can live without compensation or careers.

Pricing: Published per-user prices starting at $3 a month billed annually, with $6 and $9 tiers and a minimum charge. (free trial)

6. Betterworks

Goal-driven performance management for large organizations · United States

Performance at a published per-user rate, with a higher tier adding anytime calibration, succession planning and skills intelligence; Enterprise is custom. Its pitch is goals and evidence from the work itself. The two published tiers keep talent decisions in one product, not in add-ons.

Switch from Lattice if you want calibration and succession built into a mid-priced tier, not sold as separate modules.

Pricing: Published per-user monthly prices: Performance $8, Performance + Talent Intelligence $9 with calibration and succession; Enterprise is quoted, and implementation is a one-time extra fee. (none)

Full review: #7 of 13 in our ranking · Visit Betterworks →

7. Workleap

AI-assisted performance and team health for managers · Canada

Flat annual tiers for companies up to 250 employees, rather than a per-seat count, with a Pro tier adding API access and custom properties. Above 250 employees it is quoted. Its capability list leads with team-health surveys, recognition and 360 reviews.

Switch from Lattice if you are under 250 employees and prefer a flat yearly price to counting seats.

Pricing: Published flat annual tiers for companies up to 250 employees, starting at $4,999 a year for Standard and $11,999 for Pro; larger companies are quoted. (none)

8. Quantum Workplace

Engagement and performance platform with guided rollout · United States

Quote-based packages with a stated minimum annual contract of $15,000, well above Lattice's $4,000 floor. No implementation fee is charged, and every customer gets an implementation manager. It spans engagement, performance, development and recognition, which fits mid-size HR teams with budget.

Switch from Lattice if you are a mid-size or larger company that wants engagement and recognition tied together and has a bigger budget.

Pricing: Quote-based packages with a published minimum annual contract of $15,000. (none)

9. Engagedly

Performance, learning and engagement suite · United States

Modular suites: a performance suite, a learning suite, recognition and engagement. Its per-user prices are a stated range, with a minimum of $7,500 a year. Recognition with a gift-card store and a built-in learning platform go further than Lattice's core.

Switch from Lattice if you want performance, learning and gamified recognition from one vendor.

Pricing: Published per-user ranges by suite, about $5 to $8 for performance, with a $7,500 annual minimum. (none)

10. ClearCo

Talent suite linking recruiting, onboarding and reviews · United States

Sold as packages by lifecycle stage, with quote-only pricing. The ClearGrow package covers performance, engagement, learning and compensation; TotalTalent adds recruiting, background checks and onboarding. It suits a team that wants hiring and performance in a single system.

Switch from Lattice if you want recruiting and onboarding in the same system as performance reviews.

Pricing: Quote-only annual subscription sold as packages, from ClearGrow for performance, engagement, learning and pay to TotalTalent, which adds recruiting and onboarding. (none)

11. Workday Performance Management

Performance and talent module inside Workday HCM · United States

Performance enablement sits inside Workday's Talent Optimization offering, on a Workday subscription, not as a standalone tool. It makes sense for companies already on Workday HCM, where employee records and reviews share one system, and is a heavy choice for anyone else.

Switch from Lattice if Workday is already your HR system and you would rather not run a second vendor.

Pricing: Part of a quote-based Workday HCM subscription; not sold as a standalone product. (none)

When Lattice is still the right choice

Lattice is a reasonable choice for a company of a few dozen people up to a few thousand that wants reviews, goals, engagement and compensation under one login. It integrates with a dozen named HRIS products, supports SSO and SCIM provisioning, and lists no implementation fee for performance. If you already use two or three of its modules and the $4,000 floor is not binding, moving costs more than it saves.

What to expect when you switch from Lattice

  1. What you can take with you

Lattice documents CSV exports for goals, review results, updates and competencies, and a zip of PDF review packets per cycle. These give you records, not a ready import file for another tool. Plan a mapping step for each target system.

  2. Raw engagement data needs a setting made earlier

The raw export of individual engagement survey responses must be enabled when the survey is set up and cannot change after launch. Surveys run without it give you aggregated results only. Check each past survey before you decide what history can move.

  3. Time the exit to the cycle

Because contracts are annual, line up the end date with the end of a review cycle and export packets before access ends. Moving mid-cycle splits ratings across two systems, which makes calibration harder for the year.

Questions and answers

Can I export my Lattice review data?

Yes, as CSV and PDF. A manager can download team review results as a CSV from the Reporting page, and admins can download all PDF review packets for a cycle as a zip. Goals export as a CSV with fields such as owner, status, parent goal and progress.

Can I get raw engagement survey responses out of Lattice?

Only if the option was enabled when the survey was created. The Lattice help center says the raw export setting cannot be changed after launch. Without it, you can export aggregated results but not individual responses.

What is the minimum contract and billing term at Lattice?

The minimum annual agreement is $4,000, and Lattice bills all contracts annually in US dollars. That comes from its pricing FAQ. There is no monthly option, so the exit date is set by the contract term.

Which HR systems does Lattice sync with?

Its help center lists HRIS integrations for Namely, Zenefits, BambooHR, Workday, ADP, Sapling, Gusto, Personio, UKG, TriNet, Humaans, HiBob and Rippling. A replacement tool needs a matching connector, or you rebuild the employee feed by CSV.

Does Lattice charge for implementation?

For performance management, Lattice states there are no additional costs for change management or implementation. All contracts include dedicated support from its customer success team. Alternatives differ: some quote services separately, so ask what onboarding costs before comparing seat prices.

Are compensation and career tools part of the base price?

No. The pricing page lists Compensation and Grow as add-ons on top of the base products, at $6 and $4 per seat a month. Some alternatives bundle these differently, so compare the total for the modules you use, not the headline price.
