15Five alternatives: 13 compared

Companies look past 15Five when a stack of per-user plans, add-on lines and annual-only billing no longer matches how they run reviews, or when they want data held outside the United States. Most go to Leapsome, PerformYard or Small Improvements for review cycles, and to Lattice or Culture Amp for a wider platform.

Short answer: The closest replacements for 15Five in our Performance management software ranking are Leapsome, PerformYard and Small Improvements. Choose Leapsome if you want to buy review, goal and survey modules one at a time in euros. We took the other 12 from the Best Performance Management Software in 2026 ranking too, and each is compared with 15Five alone, noting where staying put is the better call.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow in their ranked order. Why buyers look past 15Five

  1. Three plans, then add-ons on top

The pricing page lists Engage at $4, Perform at $11 and Total Platform at $16 per user a month, billed annually. Compensation ($9 or $11), the Kona notetaker ($2 per employee), manager content ($49) and coaching credits ($399) are separate lines, so the invoice grows with each need.

  2. One billing rhythm

15Five states that its contract is billed annually, with no monthly or quarterly option. Seats and modules can be added as the company grows, but a team that wants to test a tool for a quarter, or pay in smaller steps, has to look at vendors with trials or flatter structures.

  3. Data location

The security page says customer data is stored in ISO 27001 compliant data centers in the United States. It names no other region. Employers bound by works council rules or internal policy on where personnel records sit may need a vendor that publishes European hosting.

What each alternative does differently

1. Leapsome

Germany

Prices are now listed per employee a month in euros, dollars or pounds: Performance Reviews at 7 euros, Goals at 4, Engagement at 4, Learning at 4. It adds an HRIS layer and drag-and-drop calibration. Weekly check-in habits are not its core pitch, and the module count can feel large.

Switch from 15Five if you want to buy review, goal and survey modules one at a time in euros.

Switch from 15Five if you are a company of 50 to 750 people and want a trial before paying.

Switch from 15Five if you want calibration, PIPs and succession planning without a coaching layer.

5. Culture Amp

Australia

Sold as Engage and Perform, each by quote. Support depth changes by company size, from group customer success below 200 employees to a one-to-one partner at 200 to 999. Its roots are survey science and benchmarking, so reviews are the second half of the story, not the first.

Switch from 15Five if survey science and benchmarking matter more to you than weekly check-ins.

6. Betterworks

United States

Performance costs $8 and Performance plus Talent Intelligence $9 per user a month. The higher tier brings anytime calibration, succession and skills views. Goals and OKRs sit in the base product. Enterprise adds change management and a dedicated team, quoted case by case.

8. Talos Perform

9. Engagedly

United States

Priced by suite, roughly $5 to $8 for performance, $3 to $5 for learning and $2 each for recognition and engagement, with a $7,500 yearly floor. It bundles an LMS, gamified rewards and an intranet. The breadth is wider than 15Five, and so is the interface.

Switch from 15Five if you want learning, recognition and performance bought as separate suites.

10. Quantum Workplace

United States

Engagement, Performance, Development and Recognition are quoted together, with a stated minimum annual contract of $15,000. A customer success manager is included in the Signature service tier, with analyst-led survey support at higher tiers. Too large an entry cost for most small teams.

Switch from 15Five if you have a mid-sized workforce and want analyst help with engagement surveys.

11. ClearCo

United States

Now branded ClearCo and sold as packages, ClearGrow for performance, engagement, learning and pay, and TotalTalent adding recruiting and onboarding. No prices are published. Buying it makes sense mainly when hiring and performance data should share one record.

Switch from 15Five if you also want recruiting and onboarding in the same system.

ClearCo in our ranking · Go to the vendor →

12. Workday Performance Management

United States

Presented as part of Workday's talent management software, with no price on the page and no standalone listing seen. The draw is one vendor for HR records and talent data; the cost is an implementation far heavier than a check-in tool.

Switch from 15Five if your HR records already run on Workday and you want one system of record.

13. SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals

Germany

Performance & Goals is a module of SAP SuccessFactors, described by SAP as covering goals, OKRs, real-time feedback and skills-based assessments, with a Performance Preparation Agent. Quote-based and typically bundled with the wider suite. Built for large enterprises, not for quick adoption.

Switch from 15Five if you run SuccessFactors or SAP for HR and want performance in the same suite.

When 15Five is still the right choice

Staying with 15Five makes sense when the weekly check-in is the habit you are trying to build, and managers are the actual problem. The pricing is published, the Perform plan bundles 360 feedback, OKRs and AI-assisted reviews, and the Total Platform tier adds manager training. If US-hosted data is acceptable and annual billing suits finance, the case for moving is weak.

What to expect when you switch from 15Five

  1. Time the move to a review cycle

Customer contracts are billed annually and the terms tie access to the licensed period, so the end of a term is the natural exit point. Finish or freeze open review cycles first. Moving in the middle of a cycle splits feedback across two tools.

  2. Check what leaves with you

The 15Five privacy policy states that deleting a customer account deletes its users, reports and data. Ask for the check-in history, review text and goal records before that date, in whatever format support will provide, and test an import in the new tool.

  3. Rebuild the habit, not just the data

Weekly check-ins, high fives and manager nudges are behaviors. The replacement tool may handle reviews and goals well and still lack the prompt cadence. Decide up front which of those routines you keep and who owns them.

Questions and answers

How much does 15Five cost per user?

Its pricing page lists Engage at $4, Perform at $11 and Total Platform at $16 per user a month, billed annually. Compensation, the Kona notetaker, manager content and coaching credits are priced separately, and the page is marked as updated in February 2026.

Can I pay 15Five monthly?

No, its pricing FAQ says the contract is billed annually, not monthly or quarterly. It also says some optional add-ons may carry minimum requirements, which the account executive explains. Alternatives such as Small Improvements offer a 30 day trial before an annual commitment.

Where does 15Five store my data?

Its security page states that data is stored in ISO 27001 compliant data centers in the United States. It names no European region. Leapsome and Talos Perform both list GDPR compliance on their sites, but check hosting location with each vendor in writing.

What happens to my data if I cancel 15Five?

The privacy policy says removal of a customer account deletes all of its user accounts, reports and data. It does not describe an export format, so ask support in writing what you will receive and by when, before the contract ends.

Does 15Five connect to HR systems I could keep after leaving?

Yes, its integrations page names HRIS connections including Workday, BambooHR, Rippling, HiBob, ADP and Gusto, plus Slack and Okta. Most alternatives list similar HRIS and single sign-on connectors, so the employee feed can usually be repointed.

Which alternative is nearest to 15Five on features?

Lattice is the closest by scope, with performance, goals, engagement and 1:1s at $10, $8 and $4 per seat. Leapsome and Culture Amp also cover reviews, goals and surveys. None of them sells manager coaching as a priced product the way 15Five does.
