Buyers look past HiBob when they cannot get a price without a sales call, when the modules they want are sold one by one, or when payroll has to cover more than the US and UK. Most go to Personio or Factorial for European multi-country teams, to Rippling or BambooHR if they are US-based, and to Humaans for a light system of record.
Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within
the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently
A Munich-based HR vendor in the category file, so the contract partner sits in the EU rather than in the UK or Israel. We could not load its pricing page on 30 October 2026, so its plan structure is unchecked here and you should request the current price sheet directly.
Switch from HiBob if you want a German vendor and will confirm its current plans yourself.

Publishes a starting figure of $8 per user per month and builds the real plan from the modules you pick, with a Core layer in every plan. The same suite reaches into IT management and expenses, which HiBob does not list. Depth in single modules is lower.
Switch from HiBob if you want a visible entry price and one vendor for HR, time, IT and spend.

3. Humaans
United Kingdom
Two named plans, Growth and Enterprise, both quoted. Single sign-on, Okta and Entra ID links and webhooks belong to Enterprise, while performance reviews and headcount planning are add-ons. Humaans has no payroll product, so it suits a team that already has pay sorted elsewhere.
Switch from HiBob if you need a lean, integration-friendly record system and handle payroll elsewhere.

4. BambooHR
United States
Publishes three tiers per employee per month, with Core at $10 on the pricing page. Payroll and benefits administration are marked as US employees only, and the bundle discount is US-only too. That is simple for a domestic company and awkward for a cross-border one.
Switch from HiBob if you are US-based and want published tiers instead of a sales conversation.

5. Rippling
United States
States plans from $8 per employee per month with a monthly base fee, then quotes the total from the products chosen. HR sits next to IT and finance products on one platform. Cost grows with every product added, and the final figure still comes from a quote.
Switch from HiBob if you want device, app and finance workflows driven from the same employee record.

Offers a free edition for up to five users and a 30-day trial, with paid editions that carry a five-user minimum. Enterprise adds an HR help desk and learning management. It fits best next to other Zoho products, and its payroll is a separate Zoho product.
Switch from HiBob if you are small, cost-driven, or already run other Zoho applications.

Core starts at $5 per employee per month, Advanced adds performance and learning, and Elite adds workforce planning and compensation. It claims 150+ countries, with employees, contractors and employer-of-record workers in one profile. Recruiting is extra, and the HR tiers lead toward Deel's paid services.
Switch from HiBob if you employ people through an employer of record and want one global worker profile.

8. Employment Hero
Australia
An Australian vendor whose UK page lists HR tiers per employee, with Time and Attendance and rotas as a £2 add-on per employee. Payroll and managed payroll sit in separate upgrades. It leans toward shift-based and hourly staff more than HiBob's office-oriented offer.
Switch from HiBob if a large share of your staff are hourly or on rotas, in Australia or the UK.

Namely Now starts at $9 per employee per month and the other packages are quoted. The company sells managed payroll and managed benefits services on top of the software. It is a US mid-market option, and it does not offer HiBob's multi-country footprint.
Switch from HiBob if you are a US employer who wants payroll and benefits run for you.

10. Workday HCM
United States
A suite aimed at 1,000+ employee enterprises, which Workday describes with a Gartner Magic Quadrant mention for Cloud HCM Suites. Pricing is not published. It adds financials and agents beside HR. For a company of a few hundred people, the weight of the project is the main cost.
Switch from HiBob if you have grown into the thousands and need HR tied to finance.

11. Breathe
United Kingdom
Band-based UK software starting at £24 a month for one to ten people, per Breathe's HR page, with a Xero payroll integration and payroll-ready exports. Rota and recruitment come as add-ons. It is for small British firms, not for HiBob's cross-border mid-market.
Switch from HiBob if you are a small UK firm that outgrew spreadsheets rather than a multi-country group.

Questions and answers
Does HiBob publish its prices?
No, the pricing page we read on 30 October 2026 shows a demo request form and no figures. Cost is set in a sales conversation, so ask for a written quote for every module you need.
Can I export my data from HiBob?
HiBob offers a Public HR API and webhooks, which can pull employee records out, according to its developer documentation. Whether a bulk file export is included in your plan is not stated on pages we could read, so ask your account manager.
What is the notice period when leaving HiBob?
It is not published on the public pages. The only terms we read are the End Users Terms of Use for the website, which do not set a customer contract term, so check your order form for term and renewal.
Which countries does HiBob run payroll in?
Native payroll is available for the US and the UK. For other countries, Payroll Hub connects your existing payroll provider and passes data across, so the payroll itself is not run in Bob.
Who owns HiBob now?
HiBob's own history page says Salesforce led a $166 million investment in 2026 alongside Farallon Capital Management. It does not describe an acquisition, so the company continues as an independent vendor on that page.
What breaks when I replace HiBob?
Anything built on its API or Marketplace integrations, such as payroll, ATS, Slack and single sign-on links, has to be reconnected. Compensation history and review cycles are the data that most often needs a manual plan.
