Ramp alternatives: 12 compared

Finance teams look past Ramp when they want expenses without moving the card program, when the Plus platform fee and per-user price add up, or when they need local cards and reimbursements that sit behind the quoted Enterprise tier. Most go to Brex for a like-for-like card platform, to BILL Spend & Expense for a free US option, and to Pleo or Spendesk in Europe.

Short answer: The closest replacements for Ramp in our expense management software ranking are Brex, BILL Spend & Expense and Navan. Choose Brex if you want the same card-led model with a lower published paid price. All 12 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Expense Management Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Ramp and when Ramp is still the better choice.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow in their ranked order. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

Why buyers look past Ramp

  1. Local cards and payouts sit in Enterprise

Ramp's pricing page reserves local currency card issuing in 30+ countries, locally funded reimbursements and paying card balances in local currency for Enterprise, which is quoted. Free and Plus teams with staff abroad should check what their countries actually receive.

  2. Plus adds a fee on top of seats

Plus costs $15 per user per month, with a platform fee based on team size added, and annual billing saves 20%. Procurement is a further add-on. The fee is not published, so the total is only known after the quote.

  3. The product assumes Ramp is the card

Ramp's cards are a corporate liability charge card, issued subject to credit approval. Receipt locking, spend limits and approval recommendations are built around that card, so a team that wants to keep its bank or card issuer gets less of the product.

Switch from Ramp if you want expense reports at a low per-user price and will keep your bank cards.

Pricing: Free plan for up to three users; Standard and Premium are priced per user per month at low published rates, with an active-user pricing option and a 14-day free trial. (free plan)

When Ramp is still the right choice

Stay on Ramp if you are a US company that is happy to run its cards through it. The Free plan covers cards, expenses, travel and bill pay with no per-user charge, and Plus starts at $15 per user. If your finance team already closes faster on Ramp and your people are mostly in the US, the reasons to move are thin.

What to expect when you switch from Ramp

  1. Cards are reissued

Every active Ramp card stops when the account is closed, so each vendor subscription, travel booking and recurring charge has to be updated to the new card first. Plan an overlap of one billing cycle. We found no Ramp page that states a notice period, so ask in writing.

  2. Receipts and coding history

Ramp's accounting automation suggests coding from past transactions. A new system starts with no such history, so expect more manual coding in the first close. Run both systems against your ledger for one month, and check which exports your plan allows.
