Mindbody alternatives: 11 compared

Owners look past Mindbody when they want a price they can read before a sales call, when a 90-day initial term with 30-day renewals feels heavy, or when the product is built for spas and salons as much as for gyms. Most go to TeamUp or Mariana Tek for class studios, and to Gymdesk or PushPress for a published price.

Short answer: The closest replacements for Mindbody in our Gym management software ranking are TeamUp, Mariana Tek and Gymdesk. Choose TeamUp if you run classes or courses and want a customer-count price calculator in your own currency. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Gym Management Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from Mindbody and when Mindbody is still the better choice.

Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow in their ranked order. How it works: placement disclosure · editorial process.

Why buyers look past Mindbody

  1. Plans are sold through a conversation

The pricing page lists Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate, each with a Let's talk button. A headline figure appears (a different one by region), but what you pay with add-ons such as the branded app, AI Concierge and onboarding depends on a quote.

  2. The agreement runs in 90-day and 30-day blocks

The terms of service set an initial term of 90 days unless your order says otherwise, then 30-day renewals. Ending early leaves you owing fees for the whole term, and Locked fees may rise at the next renewal.

  3. A wellness platform, with gyms as one vertical

The business-type menu spans fitness, wellness and beauty, from day spas and hair salons to martial arts and gyms. Owners who want belt tests, door access or a front-desk-free club may find that gym-specific work is not the main thread.

2. Mariana Tek

Boutique studio platform with branded apps · United States

Targets premium boutique studios in cycling, Pilates, yoga and barre. Custom-branded apps and kiosk check-in are in the base package, and spot booking is native. Prices are by demo only, and a discovery audience like Mindbody's app is not part of what the vendor advertises.

Switch from Mindbody if your studio brand is the product and you want branded apps without a marketplace.

Pricing: Three packages (Core, Core + Growth, Full Growth Bundle), all by demo with no prices shown; the site advertises the first three months free for studios that switch. (none)

3. Gymdesk

Full-feature gym software priced by active members · United States

Every feature sits in every plan, the tier follows active members only, and staff accounts are unlimited. Month to month with a trial. Belt and rank tracking suit martial arts. Door access is still in beta, and the vendor lists no consumer app that sends you new members.

Switch from Mindbody if you want one all-features price that follows active members and a month-to-month term.

Pricing: Priced by active members, from $75 a month for up to 50 members when processing payments through Gymdesk Payments ($100 with your own processor); every plan includes all features and unlimited staff. (free trial)

4. PushPress

Gym platform with a free tier and unlimited members · United States

A free tier with unlimited members and staff, paid for through card processing rates that fall on the Pro and Max plans. Aimed at CrossFit boxes and small gyms, with staff and member apps. The processing cut is the trade, since Mindbody lets you use a third-party processor.

Switch from Mindbody if you are a small gym or box and would rather pay through processing than a subscription.

Pricing: Free plan at $0 a month with unlimited members, staff and leads; Pro is $159 and Max is $229 a month, with processing rates falling from 4.99% + $0.30 on Free to 2.75% + $0.30 on Max (USD, contact sales for international). (free plan)

5. Zen Planner

Gym software that bills by active members only · United States

Counts only active members, never staff or prospects, with belt and skill tracking and a bundled website on the middle package. Marketing automation and CRM sit on the top package, the same shape as Mindbody's ladder. Daxko is the publisher, and the site shows a demo rather than self-serve sign-up.

Switch from Mindbody if you run martial arts or CrossFit and want belt tracking with a ladder you can follow.

Pricing: Studio starts at $99 a month, Essentials (adds a custom website) at $198 and Ultimate (adds marketing automation and CRM) at $348; a branded app is $39 a month and Engage is $249; you pay only for active members. (none)

Full review: #4 of 12 in our ranking · Visit Zen Planner →

6. Glofox

Member management for boutique studios, owned by ABC · United States

Member management for boutique studios, now run as ABC Glofox, with a branded members app and automations. Mindbody's own comparison page puts the two against each other. Pricing is a quote form, so you swap one opaque price for another, under ABC's ownership rather than Playlist's.

Switch from Mindbody if you are a boutique studio and are happy with a quote form and a large owner.

Pricing: No price on the page; the pricing page is a quote form asking for business type and number of locations. (none)

Full review: #11 of 12 in our ranking · Visit Glofox →

7. Virtuagym

Club management plus coaching app from Amsterdam · Netherlands

Amsterdam-based, with direct debit, card terminals, a 24/7 access system and multi-club tools in the same suite, in five interface languages. Workout and nutrition coaching sit alongside membership. No price is published and the feature menu is long for a small studio.

Switch from Mindbody if you operate in Europe and need direct debit, access control and coaching in one product.

Pricing: No prices published; the site asks for a 25 minute demo to receive pricing, and a free trial can be started from the site. (free trial)

8. GymMaster

Per-site gym software with built-in door access · New Zealand

Priced per site by member band, with door access sold as a tier of the same product for unstaffed clubs. The legal entity is in New Zealand. Free data transfer from selected providers is advertised. It is lighter on marketing tools and lists no class-discovery audience.

Switch from Mindbody if you run a 24/7 or unstaffed club and want a per-site price by member band.

Pricing: Published per-site monthly tiers by current members: Foundation up to 100 at USD $89, Advanced up to 400 at $129, Professional up to 1,300 at $209, Enterprise by quote; door access versions add $40 at each step, and yearly payment takes 10% off. (none)

9. Perfect Gym

Club management for fitness chains and leisure centers · Poland

An enterprise club platform from Warsaw, aimed at chains and leisure centers, with ISO 27001 security and debt collection services. It is a project rather than a self-serve start, with no price or trial. It is built for scale, which a single studio will not use.

Switch from Mindbody if you run a multi-site chain and want control of billing and debt recovery across clubs.

Pricing: No published pricing; the site offers a demo request only, and a quote follows for multi-location operators. (none)

Full review: #7 of 12 in our ranking · Visit Perfect Gym →

10. ABC Fitness (ABC Ignite)

Club management for traditional and big-box gyms · United States

A family of platforms: Ignite for traditional and high-volume low-price clubs, Glofox for boutiques, GymSales for CRM and Trainerize for coaches. Quote only. The owner states nearly 2,000 employees, which makes it a peer to Mindbody in scale, not a lighter option.

Switch from Mindbody if you run a conventional club or franchise and want a vendor of comparable size.

Pricing: Quote only; the site routes buyers to a demo and pricing request, and the product line runs across several named platforms. (none)

11. ABC Trainerize

Coaching app for trainers and small studios · Canada

A coaching app rather than a front desk system. A free plan covers one client, and paid plans scale with client seats, with an AI workout builder and meal tracking. It does not take over class schedules, door access or a facility point of sale.

Switch from Mindbody if you are a personal trainer or online coach and do not need a facility system.

Pricing: Free Basic plan for one client; Grow is $9 a month for two client seats and Pro is from $23 a month, scaling with the number of client seats (5 to 200); Studio plans start at $248 a month. (free plan)

When Mindbody is still the right choice

Mindbody is still the right choice when new-client demand is the problem, not operations. The listing on the Mindbody app, which the company says reaches more than 3 million active users, and the ClassPass for business integration can fill classes your own marketing cannot. It also fits an owner who sells gym memberships next to massage or spa services, or a multi-location brand that wants one vendor with onboarding, support and data conversion.

What to expect when you switch from Mindbody

  1. Request your data inside the notice period

The terms say Mindbody makes Your Data, apart from cardholder data, available through its data export service for no more than 30 days after a termination notice. Help retrieving it can carry fees, so ask for the export early and confirm what format it arrives in.

  2. Plan around cards and the contract end

Mindbody Payments runs on Stripe, and cardholder data is excluded from the export in the terms. Ask the new vendor whether stored cards can be migrated between processors. If you leave before the term ends, you still owe the remaining fees, so time the move to a renewal date.

  3. Watch the marketplace and ClassPass link

Leaving removes your listing on the Mindbody app and the ClassPass integration that syncs your schedule. Those are the only parts that bring in strangers. Decide beforehand whether to list directly with ClassPass, which the page says is free, or to replace the traffic with your own marketing.

Questions and answers

Can I export my client data from Mindbody when I leave?

Yes, within limits. The terms say Mindbody makes Your Data available through its data export service for up to 30 days after a termination notice, excluding cardholder data and content. Retrieval help during the term may carry additional fees.

How much notice does Mindbody need to cancel?

The terms require at least 30 days' notice before the end of the relevant term. The initial term is 90 days unless your order says otherwise, then 30-day renewals. Leaving early leaves the fees for the whole subscription term payable.

Can Mindbody raise my price at renewal?

The terms allow it for fees marked Locked at the next renewal term, and fees that are not Locked can change at any time. Check your order form for which of your charges are locked, and for how long, before you sign or renew.

Do I have to use Mindbody Payments?

No. Mindbody's pricing page says you can use a third-party processor, though some promotions bundle Mindbody Payments. Payments run on Stripe, with a fixed fee of $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction plus a rate in North America and Asia.

Do I lose my ClassPass bookings if I switch?

Your integration is with your Mindbody site, so a new schedule system needs its own link. ClassPass says listing a business on its app is free, and that it syncs with your booking system. Ask each alternative whether it connects.

What is the entry price of Mindbody?

The pricing page shows a starting figure of 99 euros a month per location for the European view, and the FAQ says 79 US dollars a month in North America and Asia. Each plan button reads Let's talk, so the final quote can differ.
