Docebo vs TalentLMS

Docebo is built for companies training several audiences at once, with quote-only pricing and modules on top of the base licence. TalentLMS is the quicker start for a company with no LMS administrator, with published prices and a free plan for up to five users. Larger multi-audience programs lean to Docebo, small and mid-size internal training leans to TalentLMS.

Where they differ

Price transparency

TalentLMS publishes its tiers: Core from $119 a month for 1 to 40 users, Grow from $229 for 1 to 70 users and Pro from $449 for 1 to 100 users with $6 per additional user, plus a quoted Enterprise plan. Docebo publishes no prices and sells by quote on an Elevate or Enterprise tier, priced by active users counted as monthly, yearly or registered. A buyer can budget for TalentLMS before talking to anyone.

Edge: TalentLMS

Starting small

TalentLMS has a permanent free plan for up to five users and ten courses, with no credit card and no time limit. The Docebo page we fetched mentioned no free trial and recommended a sales conversation for organizations with 250 or more learners. For a team of ten testing whether an LMS helps at all, TalentLMS costs nothing to try.

Edge: TalentLMS

Multiple audiences and extended enterprise

Docebo lists extended enterprise capabilities on its Enterprise tier, and our category notes describe separate branded catalogs and admin teams for employees, resellers and customers in one instance. TalentLMS offers branches for separate audiences, from 1 branch on Core to 3 on Grow and 15 on Pro, and unlimited on Enterprise. Branches serve a franchise or a few clients well, while Docebo is the product for four audiences with their own admins.

Edge: Docebo

AI course creation

Docebo lists AI content creation on both of its tiers. TalentLMS has an AI tool called TalentCraft whose monthly credit allowance rises by plan: 10,000 on Grow, 15,000 on Pro and 80,000 on Enterprise, and the free plan can test AI features. We did not verify how many credits a typical course uses, so neither side can be called ahead on output.

Edge: even

Analytics and compliance depth

Docebo reserves advanced analytics for Enterprise and our category notes describe it as the stronger choice for large programs with audit needs. Our notes say TalentLMS reports cover the basics well but run out for complex compliance programs with many regulated roles. A regulated employer with thousands of learners should start with Docebo.

Edge: Docebo

Tally: Docebo 2, TalentLMS 2, even 1.

When neither fits

Neither fits a company that wants skills frameworks and deep compliance history on a small budget, or one selling courses publicly to customers. Absorb LMS suits the first, and Thinkific or LearnWorlds suit the second.
