Backblaze charges $99 per computer per year for unlimited data and states there is no restriction on the number of workstations, with a quoted Enterprise Control tier above. The two bundle different things. Carbonite adds Webroot antivirus and automatic video backup on its Plus and Prime tiers, which suits a home office with no other security software. Backblaze includes a year of version history, sign-in through Google or Microsoft on business accounts, and deployment through Jamf, Intune and other MDM tools, with legal hold on Enterprise Control. Which set matters depends on who manages the machines.

Recovering a large amount of data

Both accept that a big restore over the internet is not always practical. Backblaze prepares zip restores of up to 500 GB per request and will ship an encrypted USB drive worldwide, free if the drive is returned within 30 days. Carbonite includes courier delivery of recovered files only on Prime; on Basic and Plus it costs an additional fee. Backblaze's terms are more generous.
