Teams look past Wiz when the price sits behind a work-email quote form, when they want a posture tool without the wider Code, Cloud and Defend suite, or when a hyperscaler owner is a procurement concern. Most shortlist Orca, Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Prowler first, with Aikido for small teams that want a printed price.
Vendors can pay for more visibility on this website, for example a higher place in a ranking or more room on a page. Commercial relationships can also affect which products we feature and how prominently. Every vendor link is marked the same, whatever the arrangement behind it. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:

What each alternative does differently
Agentless like Wiz, built on a scanning method it calls SideScanning, with a CSPM page that stresses workload, identity and data context beside configuration checks. Pricing is not printed: buyers are routed to a demo request, and the login selector offers US, Europe, Australia and US-Gov regions.
Switch from Wiz if you want an agentless platform of the same kind with a European data region option.

2. Microsoft Defender for Cloud
United States
Microsoft's own service, covering Azure, AWS and GCP. Foundational CSPM is free, while the paid Defender CSPM plan adds attack path analysis and agentless vulnerability scanning. Billing applies to compute, database, storage and serverless-container resources, so cost follows resource counts instead of a negotiated contract.
Switch from Wiz if you run mostly on Azure and want a free tier before paying for the advanced plan.

Open core. The Apache-2.0 CLI and self-hosted server are free, and the hosted Prowler Cloud lists 99 US dollars per cloud account each month, with 20 percent off annually and a 7-day trial. A Private Cloud edition runs in your own environment and is bought via AWS Marketplace.
Switch from Wiz if you want a printed per-account price and the option to self-host the scanner.

4. Aikido Security
Belgium
A developer-first platform where cloud posture sits beside code scanning. A free Developer plan covers one cloud account; Basic covers three, Pro ten and Advanced twenty, priced by developer bundle and sold also through AWS and Azure marketplaces. It is a lighter fit for large multi-cloud estates.
Switch from Wiz if you are a small team that wants posture and code scanning on one printed price.

5. Sysdig Secure
United States
Anchored in runtime: its CSPM page combines in-use vulnerabilities and in-use permissions with static misconfiguration findings. Its own pricing page says licensing counts the hosts in your environment, and events processed for cloud logs. No amount is printed, so budgeting starts with a host count.
Switch from Wiz if you run containers and Kubernetes and want findings ranked by what is actually running.

6. CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security
United States
Sold as a CNAPP with both agent and agentless protection, its CSPM page promises continuous agentless posture management enriched with adversary intelligence. CrowdStrike's public pricing page lists endpoint plans only, so a cloud module is bought by conversation. It fits teams already running the Falcon agent.
Switch from Wiz if you already run CrowdStrike endpoints and want cloud posture on the same platform.

7. Prisma Cloud
United States
Palo Alto Networks' CNAPP, now shown beside a newer Cortex Cloud product on the vendor's pages. The CSPM page covers misconfiguration detection and multicloud compliance reporting. No price list is printed, and the product naming is in transition, so ask which edition a quote actually names.
Switch from Wiz if you already buy Palo Alto Networks security and accept a quoted, platform-scale contract.

8. Tenable Cloud Security
United States
Packaged as Tenable One Cloud Exposure, a CNAPP combining misconfiguration, entitlement and vulnerability findings, with cloud CIEM and cloud vulnerability management also named separately. The page offers a self-guided tour and a request-pricing button instead of figures. It suits teams that already track exposure in Tenable.
Switch from Wiz if you already manage vulnerabilities in Tenable and want cloud findings in the same exposure view.

9. Fortinet FortiCNAPP
United States
Built from Lacework technology, and described as integrated into the Fortinet Security Fabric. The vendor page offers an interactive tour and a live demo but no price. Cloud provider pages cover AWS and Azure among others. Natural for buyers who already run Fortinet firewalls.
Switch from Wiz if you run Fortinet network security and want cloud findings inside the same fabric.

10. Check Point CloudGuard
Israel
Check Point's cloud platform links posture management, threat prevention and automated compliance with its network and workload products. The cloud security page shows a Free Trial and demo option, and the company states it sells entirely through channel partners, so pricing arrives from a reseller instead of a page.
Switch from Wiz if you already buy Check Point firewalls and prefer a reseller-led contract with a trial.
Company website → · Where Check Point CloudGuard ranks and why
Runtime-first: the platform page leads with monitoring behavior and containing threats in running workloads, with cloud posture management as one module among code, vulnerability, container and AI security. Aqua prints no price and routes buyers to a demo form. Posture is part of a wider workload story.
Switch from Wiz if your main concern is containers and running workloads, with posture as an add-on.

Questions and answers
Does Wiz publish its price?
No. The pricing page names Wiz One, Wiz Go and a la carte licensing but shows no figures, and a three-step work-email form leads to a custom quote. For a published number, Prowler lists 99 US dollars per cloud account each month on its pricing page.
Is Wiz owned by Google?
Yes, the Wiz about page shows a banner reading Now part of Google Cloud. The platform still describes itself as working across all major clouds, so ownership alone does not tie it to Google Cloud. Check contract terms on data handling and independence.
Can I try a Wiz alternative without a sales call?
Yes, in several cases. Prowler offers a 7-day trial with no credit card and no account limit, and Aikido has a free Developer plan with one cloud account. Microsoft's Foundational CSPM is free in Defender for Cloud. Most others route to a demo.
Is there a free option if I only need posture checks?
Yes. Microsoft Defender for Cloud lists Foundational CSPM at no cost, and Prowler's Apache-2.0 CLI and self-hosted server are free. Both cover fewer features than the paid tiers, such as attack paths and managed scanning, so test them against your accounts first.
What do I lose when leaving Wiz for a posture-only tool?
Possibly the code, runtime and agent features, since Wiz spans Code, Cloud and Defend. Its CSPM page also lists IaC scanning and 250+ frameworks. Check each candidate's own pages for the modules you actually use before dropping Wiz.
Which alternatives cover AWS, Azure and GCP?
Microsoft states Defender for Cloud assesses Azure subscriptions, AWS accounts and GCP projects. Prowler defines a cloud account as an AWS account, Google Cloud project or Azure subscription. Others on this page describe multicloud coverage, so confirm each provider before a trial.
