Agencies and in-house marketers look past Looker Studio (renamed Data Studio on Google's pages in April 2026) when reports for many clients need billing, branding and governance that a free dashboard builder does not supply, or when partner connectors become the real cost. Most move to Swydo, Reporting Ninja or AgencyAnalytics for client reporting, and to Windsor.ai or Power My Analytics to keep Google's canvas with different connectors.
Visibility in our rankings can be paid for. Payment moves a vendor's position within
the shortlist; it never adds a vendor, and it never changes a word of the review or of this page. The first three alternatives
go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the
established names follow in their ranked order. How it works:
placement disclosure · editorial process.
What each alternative does differently
Replaces the dashboard and the connector bill together, with unlimited clients, users and reports under one price. The meter is the connected account, from €69 a month for 10 sources. White labeling and client portals are inside. It reports from its own integration list, not from community connectors.
Switch from Looker Studio if you run many client dashboards and want one bill that scales with connected accounts.

Keeps Google's report canvas available, since its Data Studio connectors are part of every plan, and adds its own report builder, client portal and white labeling. Plans from $25 a month are sized by report count and accounts per type. Larger shops outgrow the published ladder at 150 reports.
Switch from Looker Studio if you want to keep building in Google's canvas but stop paying a separate connector vendor.

3. AgencyAnalytics
Canada
Priced per client at $20 a month on annual billing, with unlimited sources, reports and staff accounts and a white-labeled client portal. Looker Studio has no client-login concept, and this does. Rank tracking and AI visibility tracking are paid add-ons, and the per-client meter punishes one-dashboard clients.
Switch from Looker Studio if clients should log into a branded portal and you would rather count clients than accounts.

4. Windsor.ai
Switzerland
A connector layer with 350+ sources and unlimited syncs into Data Studio and Power BI, plus BigQuery and Sheets destinations. A forever-free tier exists, and Basic starts at $19 a month on annual billing. It does not build the dashboard, so Google's canvas stays in the stack.
Switch from Looker Studio if the dashboards are fine but you want cheaper connectors with a warehouse option.

5. Power My Analytics
United States
Connectors for Data Studio, Claude, ChatGPT, Power BI and Tableau, with 80+ sources on every plan and plans from $41.63 a month on annual billing. Account counts drive the price, not source types. Sample data is free for exploring. Like Windsor, it feeds a front end you still need to design.
Switch from Looker Studio if you want every connector unlocked on one plan and still design reports yourself.
Vendor website → · Detailed Power My Analytics write-up
The connector vendor most often named in Looker Studio setups: Starter from €39 a month on yearly billing with Looker Studio as one core destination. Limits are two data sources and two accounts per source at that level. Warehouse delivery and the API sit in the Enterprise quote.
Switch from Looker Studio if your reports are built and you need dependable connectors, with Sheets, Excel or a warehouse as options.
Vendor website → · Detailed Supermetrics write-up
Sells dashboards, not sources or clients: Individual is $44 a month yearly for 3 dashboards and 15 sources. Every integration is included, with unlimited users. White labeling and a custom domain are listed on the plan page. A client report uses one dashboard, so agency cost grows with each client.
Switch from Looker Studio if you want template-led dashboards with every integration included and a count of reports you can budget.
Vendor website → · Detailed DashThis write-up
Lists a free-forever plan with one user, three data sources and one dashboard, then Analyst at $71 a month annually. Its FAQ describes sitting alongside BI tools for non-analysts, with goals, alerts and an AI analyst. Plans count users and sources, and agency white labeling is not what it markets.
Switch from Looker Studio if managers who are not analysts need goals, alerts and AI answers more than a canvas to design.

9. ReportGarden
United States
Bills by client bundle: $75 a month for 5 clients and $125 for 10 on its pricing page, with unlimited reports and dashboards. Only data sources used in reports count toward billing, per its FAQ. A fair-usage footnote applies, and the ladder stops at 10 clients before custom pricing.
Switch from Looker Studio if you are a small agency that wants a fixed price per handful of clients.

10. Whatagraph
Netherlands
Two plans, Max from €699 a month on annual billing and a custom Prime. Max lists an EU data center, white labeling, unlimited users and reports, and credits per connected account. Transfer to Looker Studio exists only as a Prime option. The entry price is far above Google's free tier.
Switch from Looker Studio if you run a large agency practice and want managed data blends with an EU data center.

Dashboard-count pricing from $120 a month annually for 3 dashboards, with unlimited users and 130+ integrations. Refresh speed rises by tier, from 4 hours on Base to up-to-the-minute on Team+. Its pricing page also has a tab for agencies. The template gallery and data modeling suit general business dashboards.
Switch from Looker Studio if you need faster refresh than Google's 12 hours and mostly build internal business dashboards.
Vendor website → · Detailed Klipfolio write-up
A marketing data hub, not a dashboard tool: Starter from €280 a month on annual billing with 117 connectors, Business adds 579 connectors, Power BI, Tableau and BigQuery. Funnel's page lists Looker Studio among its reporting destinations. Value arrives when an analyst owns the data model.
Switch from Looker Studio if a data team wants one governed marketing data layer feeding Looker Studio, BI tools and a warehouse.

Questions and answers
Is Looker Studio the same product as Data Studio?
Yes. Google's release notes say it rebranded Looker Studio as Data Studio on April 16, 2026, and the product's home page now reads Data Studio. Third-party vendors still call it Looker Studio on their pricing pages, so both names appear in this comparison.
What does the paid version cost?
Google's pricing page lists Data Studio Pro at $9 per user per project per month, and the self-service version as no charge. Pro adds support, team workspaces and administration features. Viewers of reports built in a Pro environment do not need a license, per Google's Pro documentation.
Do I lose my Google data connections when I switch?
No source is lost, but the path changes. Google's own marketing sources are built into its product, while the alternatives here connect to them through their own integrations. Count your Google Ads, Analytics and Search Console accounts first, because most agency tools bill by account or source.
Can I keep Looker Studio and replace only the connectors?
Yes. Reporting Ninja, Windsor.ai, Power My Analytics and Supermetrics all list Data Studio or Looker Studio as a destination on their pricing pages. Funnel lists it as a reporting destination and Whatagraph offers transfer to it on Prime. Report design stays in Google's canvas.
Which alternative has a free plan?
Databox lists a free-forever plan with one user, three sources and one dashboard. Windsor.ai lists a forever-free tier with one user, one source and one account after a 30-day trial. Power My Analytics offers free sample data. The rest offer trials, or quotes only.
Will report data refresh faster after switching?
It can. Google's freshness page sets a 12-hour refresh for Google marketing sources that cannot be changed. Klipfolio lists refresh from 4 hours on Base to up-to-the-minute on Team+, and Windsor.ai lists daily, hourly and 15-minute syncs by tier for destination tasks.
