CrowdStrike Falcon alternatives: 11 compared

Buyers look past CrowdStrike Falcon when the tier that includes EDR costs more than the budget allows, or when they want a managed service, a Microsoft-bundled option or a self-serve small-business product. Most compare SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Sophos and Bitdefender.

Short answer: The closest replacements for CrowdStrike Falcon in our endpoint protection software ranking are SentinelOne Singularity, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Sophos Endpoint. Choose SentinelOne Singularity if you want EDR in every tier and are comfortable buying through a partner. All 11 alternatives below are ranked products from Best Endpoint Protection Software in 2026, and each says where it differs from CrowdStrike Falcon and when CrowdStrike Falcon is still the better choice.

CrowdStrike Falcon at a glance

  • Headquarters: United States
  • Pricing model: Per device / month or year, tiered bundles
  • Pricing: Falcon Go ($7.99 per device per month or $59.99 a year, up to 100 devices), Pro ($14.99 or $99.99) and Enterprise ($19.99 or $184.99) are sold online, with EDR and managed threat hunting only in Enterprise; Falcon Complete MDR is quote-only, and a free 15-day trial covers Falcon Prevent.
  • Free option: Free trial
  • Built for: Security teams wanting the deepest threat hunting and intelligence
  • Wrong for: A small business with no in-house security analyst and a tight budget will find the fully loaded platform overbuilt and pay for threat-hunting depth it cannot use; Bitdefender or ESET fit that budget better.

Why buyers look past CrowdStrike Falcon

  1. EDR sits in the top bundle

CrowdStrike's pricing page sells Falcon Go at $7.99 per device a month, Pro at $14.99 and Enterprise at $19.99. Endpoint detection and response is described only under Enterprise, so a small team that wants EDR pays for the top bundle.

  2. Managed detection is a separate sale

Falcon Complete, the 24/7 managed detection and response service, is listed without a price and with a contact-sales button. Teams that want a service from day one cannot buy it in the cart and must go through a sales conversation.

  3. The platform is built to expand

The pricing page promotes Falcon Flex, which gives access to the whole portfolio with modules swapped annually, plus add-on modules for identity and SIEM. That suits a security team with a roadmap, and less a company that only needs endpoint antivirus.

The closest like-for-like in model: bundled per-endpoint pricing, published at $179.99 a year for Complete and $229.99 for Commercial. Its page says purchases go through authorized partners, so the final price is agreed with a reseller rather than set by the cart.

Switch from CrowdStrike Falcon if you want EDR in every tier and are comfortable buying through a partner.

Pricing: Singularity Complete ($179.99 per endpoint per year, 14-day data retention), Commercial ($229.99, adding identity detection, 90-day retention and managed threat hunting) and Enterprise (quote) all include EDR and autonomous response; purchases go through authorized partners, and MDR is an add-on below Enterprise. Deep-learning endpoint protection with built-in ransomware rollback · United Kingdom

Sold in stacked tiers of endpoint, EDR, XDR and MDR. We could not load Sophos product pages, so we state no price or feature detail. Check its tier table yourself and ask whether a managed service can be added to the lowest tier.

Switch from CrowdStrike Falcon if you want one vendor with a managed service ladder you can step up through.

Pricing: Sophos Endpoint, Sophos EDR, Sophos XDR and Sophos MDR are stacked tiers, each including the one below (MDR includes XDR), on what Sophos calls simple per-user pricing; no prices are published, and an optional add-on covers legacy operating systems. (free trial)

EU-based endpoint protection with layered ML and EDR · Romania

Pricing: PROTECT Core, Premium and Ultimate plans are priced per device per year and sold online up to 99 devices: Core covers next-gen antivirus, firewall, LiveGuard sandboxing and full disk encryption, Premium adds ESET's own 24/7 MDR, and Ultimate adds full incident remediation and a dedicated expert; patching, email security and MFA come in a Plus add-on. 6. Cortex XDR (Palo Alto Networks)

Endpoint protection tightly correlated with network and cloud telemetry · United States

Palo Alto Networks positions Cortex XDR around endpoint prevention, detection and a wider security platform. We found no price on the page we fetched. It makes most sense when the firewall estate is already Palo Alto and the SOC wants one console.

Switch from CrowdStrike Falcon if you already run Palo Alto firewalls and want endpoint data in one console.

Pricing: Cortex XDR Prevent and Pro editions are priced per endpoint per year, with Pro adding full EDR, behavioral analytics and managed threat hunting (Cortex Xpanse and MDR sold separately); enterprise pricing is negotiated through the Palo Alto sales channel. (none)

7. TrendAI Vision One

Unified endpoint, cloud and network XDR platform · Japan

Switch from CrowdStrike Falcon if you want to move spend between endpoint, email and cloud under one contract.

Pricing: Vision One is licensed through TrendAI Flex credits, bought for a set term, drawn down monthly by actual usage and movable between endpoint, cloud, email, network and identity solutions during the contract; a free trial is available. (free trial)

When CrowdStrike Falcon is still the right choice

Stay if your team can use the Enterprise bundle and wants one agent that grows with the program. CrowdStrike's page lists a free 15-day trial, a cart for Go, Pro and Enterprise, and Falcon Complete for 24/7 managed response. If you already use its modules, switching adds integration work.

What to expect when you switch from CrowdStrike Falcon

  1. Run both agents in audit mode

Install the new agent next to Falcon on a pilot group, then set one to detect-only before you remove the other. Two sensors in full blocking mode can conflict, so follow each vendor's coexistence guidance.

  2. Move policies, exclusions and detections

Export your prevention policies, exclusions and custom detections before the contract ends, and note which Falcon modules fed other tools. Rebuild them in the new console and check the alert routing into your ticketing system.

Questions and answers

How much does CrowdStrike Falcon cost per device?

Falcon Go is $7.99 per device a month, Pro $14.99 and Enterprise $19.99 billed monthly, according to CrowdStrike's pricing page. Annual billing is also offered at lower monthly equivalents.

Is there a device limit on Falcon Go?

Yes. The pricing page footnote says purchases of Falcon Go are limited to a maximum of 100 devices, so a larger company moves to a different bundle or a sales quote.

Does CrowdStrike offer a free trial?

Yes, a free 15-day trial with no credit card required, according to its pricing page. Use it to test sensor performance on your own devices before you compare quotes.

Which alternative is cheapest per user?

Microsoft Defender for Business at $3.00 per user a month, paid yearly, on Microsoft's page. It is counted per user, covers up to five devices each and is limited to 300 users.

Can I buy managed detection without a sales call?

Not from CrowdStrike: Falcon Complete is contact-sales. ThreatDown's pricing page lists Managed Detection & Response among its services and sells bundles through a cart, so check which bundle includes it.

Will my EDR data move to another vendor?

We could not confirm an export format on CrowdStrike's pages. Plan to export alerts and reports yourself, and keep them for your own audit period.
