Cvent vs Eventbrite
Cvent is a modular suite for corporate meeting programs, with registration, venue sourcing, onsite hardware and spend controls under one contract. Eventbrite is a self-service ticketing marketplace that a promoter can start using in minutes and pay for per ticket. The first suits organizations running many managed events, the second suits public events that need to sell tickets to strangers.

Where they differ
Breadth of event management
Cvent's own event page lists registration and marketing, venue sourcing through the Cvent Supplier Network, event diagramming, speaker and abstract management, room block management, mobile event apps, check-in and badging, trade show lead capture, a virtual event platform and webinar software. Eventbrite covers event pages, ticketing, promotion and an organizer check-in app, and our category notes call its agenda, speaker, sponsor and CRM tooling thin. For a managed corporate program, Cvent has the wider reach.
Edge: Cvent
Time to a live event page
Eventbrite events can be created in minutes by one person without a sales call, and free events cost nothing. Cvent is quote-only and our category notes describe heavy implementation that usually relies on trained administrators or Cvent services. A first event on Eventbrite is live the same day. On Cvent it is a project.
Edge: Eventbrite
What the pricing looks like
Eventbrite's pricing page states 3.7% plus $1.79 per ticket as a service fee and 2.9% per order for payment processing, with unlimited free events at no cost and an Eventbrite Pro plan from $15 a month for email marketing. Those figures are shown for the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Cvent page we fetched published no prices and pointed to a demo request, and our category notes describe modular licensing on multi-year contracts. We could not verify any Cvent figure.
Edge: Eventbrite
Venue sourcing and meeting logistics
Venue sourcing is the part of Cvent that Eventbrite has no counterpart to. A planner who books hotel blocks and meeting space every month can search suppliers, manage room blocks and request approvals inside the same suite. Eventbrite assumes the venue is already chosen and sells the seats.
Edge: Cvent
Reaching new attendees
Eventbrite lists public events in a marketplace that brings buyers a standalone registration page will not, and its checkout is familiar to many attendees. Cvent is built for invited or registered audiences and does not act as a public discovery channel in the pages we reviewed. For an open event that depends on strangers finding it, Eventbrite has the edge. The trade-off in our category notes is that the buyers are also Eventbrite marketplace users, and that ownership changed in March 2026 when Bending Spoons took it private.
Edge: Eventbrite
Tally: Cvent 2, Eventbrite 3, even 0.
When neither fits
Neither fits a B2B team of modest size that wants session and attendee data flowing into its CRM without an enterprise contract. Swoogo and Bizzabo are built for that job, and Ticket Tailor suits organizers who want ticketing with lower fees than a marketplace.

Questions and answers
Is Cvent or Eventbrite better for a corporate conference?
For a single conference with a modest budget, neither is the first choice we would name. For a company running many conferences with hotel blocks, approvals and onsite badging, Cvent is the one built for that. Eventbrite works for a conference only if ticketing is nearly all you need.
How much does Eventbrite charge per ticket?
The pricing page we fetched states a service fee of 3.7% plus $1.79 per ticket and a 2.9% payment processing fee per order, with free events costing nothing. Organizers can absorb the fees or pass them to attendees. Availability of these plans was listed for the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Does Cvent publish its prices?
Not on the page we fetched, which sent visitors to a demo request. Our category notes describe quote-only modular licensing. We could not verify contract length or any module price from the vendor.
Can Eventbrite handle virtual or hybrid events?
We could not verify this on the pages we checked, so we do not make the claim. Cvent lists a virtual event platform and webinar software among its products.
