Despite claims that the US needed to “do more” in Syria, or that former President Barack Obama “failed to intervene”, there is extensive evidence that Western, and other powers, have been arming and assisting all manner of reactionary militant groups in the country since the conflict began in 2011. All in complete violation of international law.

US presidential hopeful Tulsi Gabbard has issued repeated statements warning that Donald Trump is leading the US into “war with Iran”. A war that she says would make Iraq look like “a cakewalk”.

The US Department of Defense (DOD) recently published its annual report for Congress about China’s  “military and security developments”. National security and foreign policy expert Lawrence Wilkerson warned that the report is a “budget ploy”, which is part of a larger and more dangerous aggressive US posture, that sees China not only as a competitor but also as a threat to vital US national security interests. He says this world-view is setting the stage for war.
