Men and women from different backgrounds came to Labour Party HQ on 9 July to show their support for and solidarity with Chris Williamson MP who was suspended, from the Labour Party, then unsuspended following a three person disciplinary hearing, only to be re-suspended following outcry from the right-wing of the Parliamentary Labour Party. The demonstration was held while a decision was being made by the National Executive Committee as to whether they should accept the disciplinary panel’s decision or reject it and send the case to another panel re-consider the case.

Conviction of John Letts and Sally Lane exposes “absurdity” of UK terror laws and complicity of the Active Change Foundation

The British state has secured a ‘terror’ conviction against two parents for sending £223 to their son in Syria, intended to help bring him home to the UK. Human rights group CAGE lashed out at the ‘absurdity’ of terror laws which require no evidence of actual terrorism, as well as the role that the government-funded Active Change Foundation appears to have played in the conviction.
Death toll of Western-backed war on Yemen exceeds 90,000, says new data

New data analysis by conflict monitoring group ACLED has led them to conclude that at least 91,600 Yemeni men, women and children have been killed by the US/UK backed war on Yemen. But even that figure may ultimately prove to be very much an underestimate.
